Access Multisite from two different installations with same domain

I have two different installations of multi-site network websites. One has older websites and one has new ones. I want to move all older sites one by one to newer installation. I have an existing domain for the older website and want to point it new installation sites one by one, as I keep building newer versions of it.
Can I point same domain to two different installations for selected websites?

Hi, I’m publishing a quarterly magazine on wordpress and am wondering if Multisite will fulfill the following needs:

1. each magazine issue is its own site with different users/subscribers, yet some overlapping.
2. all issues, current and past, are under a single domain name
3. each issue/site has to cross-integrate with s2member. For instance, each user that has a paid yearly subscription will need to be able to login to four different issues with the same username/password.

My apologies in advance if I’ve not getting the language right! I’m not a very good geek. Can multisite work for what I need?

wordpress site on main domain using data from its blog database

Hi All, As i have a requirement from client he wants to display the contents in a different way on main domain say “domain.com” using the data from the existing blog say “blog.domain.com”,Now nothing is installed on domain.com and wordpress blog is there on blog.domain.com, Kindly let me know the right way of getting contents as same as blog.domain.com so that client can use it as he wants.

Hello Guys,

I’d like to know a method to accomplish the following scenario.

There is a host. (Ex hostgator.com)
There is a domain (Ex. keebod.com)
There is a Database (Ex. wp_mainsite)

On the navigation-bar, there would be links like About, Home, Contact, Forum, Blog, and “my_app”

Things about About, home and contact come under basics and got no problem.

The problem is with the rest of the sections.
I would be installing bbPress kinda bulletin board linked to the “forum button”.
I would be installing wordpress 3.04 to a directory linked to “Blog button”.
I would be installing wordpress 3.04 to a directory linked to “my_app button”.

Now, the original website (keebod.com in my example) is already a wordpress install, though 2.9 version.

Will this setup workout? And how to accomplish this either the clean way, or the dirty way..?

I’m creating a bilingual website (French and English) on a single URL with a language link to switch to English. What is the best way to install both language versions of WP on a single domain?

– Can both versions be installed, one in the root directory and the other in a folder (e.g., …/english) in the same root directory? Or,

– Will I have to create a sub-domain, e.g, en.mysite.ca?
