Social Icons not displaying Icons from Shortcode

I got the  placeholder instead of the icons. I do have the plugin working as a widget though and displaying the icons.

Simple Social Not on Dashboard

I’ve used Simple Social without issue. It’s been wonderful for every website I’ve created. UNTIL TODAY. I’m creating a new website and installed the latest version of Simple Social and once activated, it USUALLY shows up in the SETTINGS. It is not there on this website.

WordPress 4.4.1
Genesis Framework Version: 2.2.6
Child theme: Optimal Version: 1.2.1
Simple Social 1.0.13

It IS working on a site that is
WordPress 4.3.2
Genesis Version: 2.2.3
Child theme: Optimal Version: 1.2.1
Simple Social 1.0.13

I could not find anybody else with this same problem. Any idea why it’s not showing up on the settings?

Two uses seem to conflict…

Using the Simple Social plugin in two different widget areas seems to conflict.

We are using Parallax Pro, from StudioPress (they recommended this plugin). Using the plugin in the header with smaller icons messes up the display of both it and the one in the body of the homepage.

Is there a way to use the plugin multiple times on the same page?

Sidebar widgets acting odd

Sidebar widgets are acting odd. I can’t make the official Twitter widget show any content, and the popular “Simple Social Icons” plug-in (which I use on a handful of other sites) is coming out quite odd. Any thoughts?

I know the plugin is called Simple Social, but a few extra options would be nice:

Fix needed: Adjust the vertical position of Facebook icon as it’s too low.
Have 2 colour schemes for the Facebook text; as it is now it’s practically invisible on my black-background blog.
Have the option to display Twitter and/or Facebook links at top of post too.

Have the option to customise distance between Twitter/Facebook icons and social icons, and between social icons themselves.
Add a printing (or PDF) button to the social list

The first 2 points are the most pressing for me, while the rest would be icing on the cake. As it is I really like this, ermmm, simple plugin.

Perhaps I’ve done something wrong, but my share twitter button is only showing up as a grey box. Is this a spacing issue? I’ve opened up the plugin editor, but I can’t see where to fix it.

A mountain of hassle with reinstall

I’d only just launched my WordPress website last week when the entire public_html directory got deleted. Since the DB was still in place, my hosing service suggested a reinstall and go from there.

So I did that and started a hard reinstal to map to the existing DB. Right at the finish I got a message that WP was already installed.

Now I’ve got all kinds of hassles and an error log as long as your arm. Theme and Plugin editors return this message:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 64 bytes) in /home/clueyco/public_html/copywriter/wp-admin/includes/misc.php on line 286

I’ve also got problems with Next Gen Gallery rendering images, creating thumbnails and making thumbnails stick.

Another plugin Simple Social is installed and active but just wont work. And when I check the settings there’s just a bunch of ticked boxes but no text or images.

Heelllp! Is there anyone out there who might know

Hi,
the titles says it all.

I am using this plugin on a website I am rebuilding right now. It’s great, but as you can see at https://strider.zona-m.net, the widgets are added also right below the title and excerpt of each post in the home page. I would like them to appear, instead, only at the bottom of each full post, not below titles in home page and category listings.

I already looked at the source code and I have a feeling that in order to do this I should modify in some way the final part of simple_social.php but I don’t know how. Suggestions or pointers to the right documentation are very welcome!
