No email sent to customer after PayPal payment

I have tried all of the advice in the old topic:

but still am not having any luck receiving an email after purchase. Customer receives an email from PayPal that the funds have transferred, but customer does not receive purchase email with download link.

My WordPress page will not work when I activate the eCommerce plugin

I have been using Simple eCommerce for over a year and everything worked well ….. great product. In Sept 2015 my website failed to work …. blank screen on my website and blank screen in the WordPress Dashboard. I contacted WordPress and they deactivated all my plugin and then my website worked normally. I activated each pluggin one at a time and when I activated Simple Ecommerce my website failed to work again. Are other people having this problem? I am using the Esplanade theme. Is that the problem? My only other plugins are Jetpack and WP Edit Pro.

I have contacted the developer Niaz ShowKet directly about the issue below and will update this post once the problem is fixed.

The issue: We have a site that offers download products for sale but most downloads will occur from those who purchased a membership and received coupon codes for free products as a member benefit.

The problem is that when someone clicks the download link from their free product confirmation email they are brought to a page that says “Your payment is not completed yet”. Keep in mind, the product is free.

The developer says the default status for such orders is “pending” when it should be “complete”. There is no option to change the default which would allow for immediate download of free products.

What’s even worse is, say you get 100 orders in a day for free download products, there is no way to batch change order status. You have to click into each one individually to change the status and then click into it a second time to resend the confirmation email.

This is a serious flaw and I hope it’s corrected. Again, I’ll update this post once I here from the developer.

Categories list default display

I am just installed the Simple Ecommerce plugin and it looks just what I want for my client’s new store area, but she is only using one category currently so is there a way of defaulting to that single Category, or not showing the Category list at all, rather than defaulting to All with a single item below in the dropdown Categories list on the Store page?
I am using my client’s site as a test for a large store and if all works well for this simple instance I will be looking to upgrade to the Pro version in due course.

Simple ecommerce edit product images

I need to change the size of some of the images on my product page. I tried resizing in a photo editor and then adding them back in, but I just ended up with fuzzy or pixelated images. I’m using Simple eCommerce plugin.
