Thanks Chris for the useful plugin!

]]>We’re experimenting with WordPress and the Foyer plug to simplify for the admin updating the signage screen.
This is an internal signage display, so not visible from outside our department. Sorry.
It’s easy enough to add new slides, but I don’t see how I can make the Display auto-pickup new added content without manually refreshing the web browser on the computer connected to the signage screen.
Is this at all possible?

]]>I want to setup a CMS Slideshow to display full screen on a local TV Monitor for a Public Library. (It is conencted via HDMI to a dedicated PC)
I need help finding a plugin or Theme that will run a full screen, auto playing, looping slideshow (and nothing else).
I will be feeding it straight images, no text titles or captions.
Features needed:
? Full screen, no menus, links, extra text etc.. (I can delete areas of a theme if I need to to dump a menu/text block etc..)
? Able to accept large images. (They need to fill the screen not just take up 1/8 of the screen)
? (Preferred but optional) Ability to set timing on a slide to slide basis.
? (Important) Ability to rearrange slideshow order without editing publishing times. (Most of the options so far sort slides by timestamp
? (Important) Nearly unlimited slides (Or at least 30)
(So many close solutions restrict me to 5 slides…)
I’ve tried the digital signage theme (By Nate Jones). It works. I’ve edited it to remove the widget area and made it even more minimal.
But slides are sorted by date/time and that is not convenient.
I’ve tried several plugins/and a few other themes but there is usually a problem getting to my above feature list.
Alternatively (please don’t hate me for saying so) I can move away from wordpress to something else.
However I need it to be editable via the web. LAN connection won’t work, even editing directly on the computer is not convenient. (Computer is in a server room without a monitor. TV is around 4 corners and 100ft away)
To top it off my webhost doesn’t provide MySQL databases (frustrating)
No option to switch either, its being hosted via a company that provides a wide range of services to and connects small libraries like ours in the area. (I got wordpress working by using a plugin that moves the database into SQLite)
Fun right?
The TV currently runs a “Powerpoint Show” but getting the file properly onto the TV so that it autoplays on startup is slightly complicated.
I need a really really simple solution for less tech savvy staff to use.
(Besides me, no one will even consider doing it right now, and that needs to change)
Oh and did I mention it needs to be as close to free as possible?
Our Library has a really tight budget. It’s been hard to even find funds for wages.
Any help or advice would really be appreciated!
I need to get this up and running within the 1st week of December 2015!
