Show Item Weight Not Shipping Weight

We have an issue on our website regarding shipping weight versus item weight. Our item weights are very important and the impression that they are heavier than they are will cost us the sale. For this reason we have entered the item weight in the product variations. However, this causes issues with shipping calculation because it thinks the shipped box is lighter than it actually is and selects the wrong method. Is there a way to enter both the item and shipping weights so that customers aren’t confused and the shipping method is properly chosen? I just started working on this and haven’t had time to finish searching on my own yet so I apologize if this is an easy fix.

Manual Orders not calculating based on weight

Hi Devs,

I’ve installed the free version of the plugin on a client’s website and after a bit of testing, it seems to be working for user-created orders via the site (checkout).

The question is, for manual entries (call orders) we found that the shipping doesn’t auto-calculate the shipping when adding to the order.

Is this a miss-configuration / issue on our side or is this a feature for a future update?

Are Ounces enterd as Decimals in Your Plugin?

Hi,

I have a simple question regarding “weight format setup” within your plugin.
I see that in your plugin, for weight fields, you have a default of: “1 oz.”

Most shipping plugins use a decimal equivalent of a pound…which for 1 oz. would be: “.0625”

Question:
Is your plugin format: 1 oz., 2 oz., etc?
Or, is it by decimal weight of a pound: .0625, .125, etc.

Dear all,

My query is related to weight in woocommerce. I am working on a shop which has Cookware and some cosmetics. My default weight is kg in woocommerce setup.

cookware has weight in kg while liquid cosmetics items has quantity in ml. but the item packing weight has in grams.

for a 28ml serum the pack size is around 100g. How to manage this.

Please suggest.

We have generated the xml to the Google Shopping and it’s not published because we are told that there’s an error in this feed: the shipping weight. We have added this field in this way: Google Shopping Attribute: g:shipping_weight, Prefix: Kg and Value: Weight and also tried weight (Custom attribute) but the error goes on. Any idea about what we are doing badly?

Hi, I made Shipping rules and added weight to every product. It works here and there, but when it If it comes above a certain weight it doesn’t work.
For instance, I add dadi oil with a weight of 17.5 grams which is assigned to Brievenbus 1: 0-100 grams = 2.50 €
When I add Peclavus Voetcrème vettend, it becomes Brievenbus 2: 100-350 g 3,50€
So far, so good. But when I add more items then it suddenly has just the option of pick it up (afhalen). It should however show option Brievenbus 3, which is 350 -2000 grams 4,25 € or Package (Pakket) which is 2 – 5kg. 6,99 €
There is also Pakket 2 with 5 kg – 10 kg 9.99€
What now?

Also I do not understand the difference between these Shipping rules and the ones you add under shipping zone. If I work with both I get more options to choose. I just want one method that works with adding up.

Packaging weight

Is it possible to add the weight of packaging as a separate item before making the shipping calculation ?

For example: If I send one book, the shipping cost should be calculated on the weight of the book + the weight of the packaging. But if I send two books, the shipping cost is the weight of two books + the same weight of the packaging.

If I add the weight of the packaging to the product weight on the product page then the the total weight is overestimated if two or more copies of the book are added to the basket, and the customer could be overcharged.

As my sales volume is low, I am only using the free version of Woocommerce and related plugins or extensions.

shipping weight not transfering to paypal

How do I transfer the shipping weight to paypal. When I checkout it asks for zipcode but then calculates a $0 cost for shipping. The weight is not being transferred and configured properly. How do I add the weight to my shortcode?

I have weight rate and noticed that when a customer orders more than one item, the weights are not getting added together. It seems to be taking the last item’s weight rate shipping cost.
