For example you search for site:jackieradophotography.com and scroll down to where it says “https://www.jackieradophotography.com ? training”, the description it displays is:

“MENTORING AND COACHING · Tailored 1:1 mentoring sessions where we look in depth at your goals and obstacles and help you to achieve your photographic objectives”

Which Google seems to have plucked at random from the middle of the page – but the meta-description for that page is and has been for more than a year:

“I love to teach photography and share my experience; and I delight in helping others to achieve extraordinary results that surpass all expectations.”

Before we had the site redesigned just over a year ago we used a different plugin to assign the SEO descriptions to the pages – and Google didn’t ignore those descriptions, it displayed them – is you searched for site:jackieradophotography.com, the descriptions it displayed for each page tallied with the SEO descriptions we’d created.

The only page for which Google is currently displaying more or less the same description as the meta description we created using Yoastg SEO is the Home page – but even then it’s truncating it, even though the meta description is well under 160 characters, which I was advised was the maximum length Google allow. So in the case of the Home page, the description Google displays is:

“Bringing out the best in others by taking beautiful family and profile portraits and by training & mentoring, sharing my experience and passion for”

Whereas the meta description is:

“Bringing out the best in others by taking beautiful family and profile portraits and by training & mentoring, sharing my experience and passion for photography.”

Any idease?

nothing works
the meta description in front html source code still cut off my meta description to 160 characters.

I have added jetpack seo descriptions to each of my posts but they are not showing when they appear on google search results.

I had considered it might be a lag for existing pages however new pages that are published with the seo descriptions are not showing them in google. The descriptions do appear in the jetpack social preview though.

I set specific SEO title and description for my Category pages, but they keep showing SEO title and description of homepage.

Can you help me?

For our German homepage, we have set the SEO settings for that page to show “Erfolgreich. Mit Software von microTOOL!” as the title and “Software für Projektmanagement, Requirements Engineering und agile Entwicklung von microTOOL aus Berlin. Profitieren Sie von 32 Jahren Erfahrung.” as the description. When I open the homepage in my browser, the browser tab shows “microTOOL | Making IT better” – which is taken from the original WordPress settings and not from the homepage seo settings.

Our website is running on the latest version of wordpress. Kriesi’s Enfold theme is installed and running (which is the pagebuilder that we use). And we use WPML for translating pages and posts and some other plugins like Related Posts Pro (which has a broken design by the way, when The Seo Framework plugin is enabled).

I have also activated The Seo Framework Extension Manager and the Title Fixer as well, but none of that seems to change the titles in the way that we need it.

Edit #1:
When looking up the sourcecode, I found out, that a second title-tag is included in the code. So, the title-tag is not overwritten by the plugin but added a second time.

Any help with this is appreciated.
