Hi,
I am having this error after I deleted an expired SSL certificate on loading my website:
“This server could not prove that it is claireobeid.com; its security certificate is from adminsanity.com.au. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection.”

I don’t have any connection with this site adminsanity.com.au. Please assist me in resolving this issue, ASAP.

Changing all the URLs, file names, and links on your website when you install a security certificate is a big PITA. But with SSL, it’s easy. All you have to do is install it and review the settings. but if you want HTTP strict transport security (i.e. your website should *only* be accessed via URLs starting with “https://”, or secure cookie settings, you’ll need the premium version.

HTTP to HTTPS SSL redirect very slow

I thought I had a different issue with my site but it seems this is the biggest load issue. If I were to put elixircbd.com into my browser then it would take around 5 seconds to redirect to my https and load up my site (around 6-9 seconds total load time give or take). However if I were to put https://elixircbd.com into my browser it will load within 1-2 seconds (upto 3 seconds load time give or take) . How do I make this http to https redirect almost instant or at least a lot faster?

Just an FYI. I don’t use any SSL related plugins. I have set up a 301 redirect in my .htaccess for my site to redirect and have also changed my site URL in my WordPress settings to be https rather than http. I use w3 total cache with cloudflare.

HTTPS vs HTTP & Chrome

Hi,
Previously had a security certificate on my website for 90 days. It is no longer needed and I let it expire. Now I can’t access website from my main browser (Chrome) as I get the error ERR_SSL_UNRECOGNIZED_NAME_ALERT. I can’t access it using any browsers I had previously accessed the website with.
Under Settings / General the URL is set to HTTP not HTTPS.
What else can I do ?

I’m using the second method in that post and followed these directions:

First you need to modify one of the plugin files. Yeah we know, not great but you need to make this change to ensure that iframe.css can load securely over https. Otherwise is just loads the http version whatever type of connection you’re on. When MailPoet 3 comes along, it’s all going to work a lot better.

In your plugins directory, locate wysija-newsletters/views/front/widget_nl.php. You need to add the following line:

$iframeCssUrl = str_replace(“http:”, “”,$iframeCssUrl);

just above this line (line 47):

$iframeCssUrl = apply_filters(‘wysija_iframe_css_url’, $iframeCssUrl);

And it does not give me an https version of my form.
I don’t have an https website, in general, but this was not stated as being necessary to do this tutorial. So how can I make it work?

URL changed to SSL mode during update, website not working

Dear all,

Could you help fix or explain how I could fix the problem myself as my website www.habisol.com has changed after the latest update (yesterday) so that most of the main pages (not the home page) have become https-pages from normal http-pages so that they cannot be accessed unless you accept some security certificate. I cannot explain this in the proper words as my browser is in Finnish and the terminology too.

I have had the same problem in April 2015 and then the problem was corrected automatically during the day.

This is the second time this has happened.

I really hope this does not happen again and that someone can fix the problem as soon as possible.

Security certificate warning with IE11 (not Firefox or Chrome)

which should generate the QR code, produces a “Security certificate warning” blocking connection to chart.apis.google.com

Whois shows it as google.com

On IE11 I have tried:
1) deleting the browser history
2) clearing the SSL state – Tools – Internet Options – Content – Clear SSL state.
3) Reset Security Custom setting with the Reset button.

IE11(up-to-date) still blocks the QR code, which started a few days ago.

The QR code loads on the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox.
