Secondary Widgets appearing on bottom of homepage

I set up some secondary widgets and on the homepage they currently show up at the bottom where the footer is. However on the events page (currently empty) they show up where they are supposed to be. I am very new to wordpress and I can’t even figure out where to edit the html for my homepage. I was given this website with the job of editing it in the current state that it is in. Any advice on how to place the secondary widgets on the side where they should be like the events page?

Starting with a basic ‘blankslate’ template and woocommerce, when I add a secondary-widget-area in my themes function.php file, the info in the woocommerce ‘cart widget’ fails to update or display cart contents and random clicks on the site cause following error. . . . . .

“Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/somethinhosting/public_html/silveradotruckaccessories.com/wp-content/themes/blankslate/functions.php:1) in /home/somethinhosting/public_html/silveradotruckaccessories.com/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1207”

note:It works flawlessly on my local Server, only running into this issue after i upload the function.php to the live server

Secondary Widget Sidebar

WP did an update…and now I have a secondary widget area…but my theme does not support it. I don’t want it…so how do I get rid of it? It is only on my most current post since it was published after the update took effect. My site Homemade & Yummy
If you look at my most current post and then click “read more” you will see what I am talking about. If you click “read more” on any of the other posts this does not happen. Only since the stupid update this problem has started. Why can’t they just leave things alone!!!!!

Secondary widget not working in Twenty Thirteen

I cannot get the secondary widget area to accept any widgets at all, they just spring back. I have two widgets in the primary area: slideshow and etsy mini. this is my first wp project. My ultimate plan is to have the secondary widget area visible on some pages and not on others. I have read documentation, googled and read forums, and it seems to be so straight forward. What am I missing? Thanks.

Great 2013 Theme!

Can I set WP so the “Secondary Widget Area” is already expanded when navigating to the Widgets admin page?

The Main widget area is expanded, but the Secondary is not.

Is this set somewhere in the theme’s functions.php or wp-admin/widgets.php? Or somewhere else?

Removal of Secondary Widget Area title?

Ok, sorry if this is obvious but I’m a WP novice.

My site is at www.thomaswainwright.com which is a site for my kids (long story!) I’m running Twentyten and 3.0.1.

I experimented with a different theme (Comment Central), didn’t like it, and when I switched back to TT all the widgets had been moved to the inactive area. I’ve moved the widgets back but cannot find where the actual text ‘Secondary Widget Area’ is coded or how to remove it.

Any ideas please?
