Can I have a "secondary blog" within my WebsiteBlog?

I’m an artist building my first WP site to promote my work. I’m also a pretty resourceful person in other areas, and would like to run a “blog on the side” wherein I post general useful information: Living Inexpensively, DIY, etc.

Is it possible to run a second “Useful Info” blog inside my “Artist” website/blog – and still have just ONE relatively simple WordPress site? Or would I have to make a second WP blog site for “Useful Info”, and create links to that?

Rather than making a second blog or a single blog that’s too complex for me to administer, it appears I can create a CATEGORY such as “Useful Info” and perhaps some sub-categories:

I’m using Themify’s Basic theme (which includes ThemeBuilder). I created a PAGE entitled “Useful Info”. The “Themify Custom Panel” has a “Query Posts” feature that enables me to display multiple posts of a particular Category (Useful Info) on that page.

Is that a good way to approach this?

I would like to have the ability to migrate this information from https://www.savingantiquities.org/resources-3/references-3/ to another WP new site using theme x. Ideally the entries would be searchable by categories and different criteria. What is your recommendation? We prefer to use as little customization as possible, using native functionality instead.

Would this be possible by adding a second blog to the new site and treating each reference entry as a blog post, with the categories? Any information or advice is appreciated. If I should use a second blog, what is the best way to do this? And will the second blog have its own categories?

Firstly I am unable to find what version of WordPress I am using and secondly I am unable to start a second blog.
