I am trying to find a plugin for a searchable database where our customers can search for replacement part using competitor part numbers resulting in our equivalent part number.

I am sure I am not describing this correctly to the search field, the results I am getting are not in line with what I need.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi. I’m trying to develop a site, the purpose of which is to allow visitors to search for artists of a specific group. Data will be submitted to me via a form by each artist, and then I can input it I guess. Data includes names, business names, events they participate in, product categories (sub categories & items), state,etc. I’ve actually got the basics of the database in Access, which I’d export to a MySQL on the host server. My question is, I need these categories to be searchable, and to return a list of results (say 5 artists) which they could then click to go to a specific artist’s page and see only THAT artist’s info. Basically a lot like an e-commerce site, but with no commerce. I’m trying to get a “profile” page where a product page would be.

I’d really appreciate help. I’ve used WP w/WooCommerce in the past, so I have a basic idea of how it works, but can’t find exactly what I need in the forums.

Searchable database with a single-field search box

I have a client who is announcing a recall of one of its products. They are looking to have a single-field search box on the front end of their site, where doctors can insert in the part number to see if it was affected by the recall. Once they enter the number, it will either tell them the part was recalled or it’s not.

Here’s what I need:

1- On the back end, I need to create a database to house the lot/part numbers that have been recalled. The only data we need to be stored is the lot/part code. So far, we have identified 4500 different lot/part numbers that could fit the bill. The lot numbers are currently in a CSV format.
Ex. Lot Code: 102020T10

2- On the front end, I need to have a search box with only one field (i.e. lot code) to put on a page that I want to devote to a “Recalled Product Search” page. On this page, the doctors (who aren’t WordPress users, so no login is needed to access the search page) would be able to see if a product they use is recalled based on the lot number they insert into the search text field. Once they insert the lot number and click ‘Search’, the results will show (ie. Yes, if your product was recalled, contact XXXX – No, your product is not recalled). It can either redirect them to a new page to display the results or ideally use ajax to fetch and output the results on the same “Recalled Product Search Page”.

It seems as if this would be possible with WordPress, but I’m fairly new to WordPress so this has been pretty hard to wrap my head around.

Would I create a whole new database or would I add a custom table in the existing WordPress database? Any plugins out there that I could turn to?

Is there a way (or plugin) to create a searchable database on WordPress website?

For example, a database of JPG or PDF files, with each assigned a code. When someone enters the code in the search field, the WordPress will open/show the JPG or PDF?

I just started with WP – got well through the installation and set up my first WP-page.

Now I would like to create a database containing B&B-rooms in different locations, which can be searched by specifying criteria like: Price, place, etc… Each entry in the search should correspond to a website I would create for every B&B.

Does anybody have some suggestions how to address this project in WP?

Student Database that can be searched and edited by admin

Hey im trying to create a students database in wordpress it should be inputted by the teachers via a frontend form(if possible-a form must have multiple pages each for different semesters) note that only current semester data is inputted each time and rest of the fields are left as is to be inputted for next semester by editing the same record of that particular student.
And this database must be able to be searched by the parents and others to check the students status….

I tried looking for plugins I found contact form to database plugin (cfdb ) which does exactly what I want

but it doesn’t allow to edit the fields once the form is submitted and it requires to buy editor which i cannot afford to.

Searchable Database

Hi, I’m working with and organisation and we have about 200 members who I would like to appear on a searchable database. The search criteria would be things like geographic area, type of organisation, name of org etc. Is there an easy way to do this, or a plugin? And is it possible to upload in the first instance via a csv file? Then add new members in manually?

I would like to upload the file to the wordpress site so that you can search on certain field criteria. Your help would be appreciated

Hi. I have a project database that features some basic fields like client name, project title, fields for the tasks completed, contact name, and price charged. I am trying to find a way to recreate this in WordPress. Basically, I would want to create the fields I need in the database, then enable users to enter records using those fields, then be able to search on and display those stored records. I would want to search the records by the fields in the database, so client name, project name, etc.

Is there any plugin that anyone knows of to accomplish this? I’ve done several searches but the word “database” is not a great search term.

First off: Apologies if I posted this under the wrong category! I wasn’t really sure where it fit?

But I’d like to add a searchable database (of research studies, including author information, publication date, etc.) to my WordPress site. Right now I have things set up with the Tablepress plugin:

However, I hope to expand the data content to 1000+ entries in the near future, and would like something that displays results more like this:

I’ve been trying to search through Google, etc. for ideas and programs like Knack and Caspio have popped up, among others, but I have no idea where to start (is one better than another, is there an effective way to do this free or with plugins, etc.).
