Scribd-related assets add up to ~600kb per pageload:

So granted, 1) Scribd is free so this is how they’re paying for themselves and 2) I could take a bunch of time and set up a different way to feature the PDFs, but I’m curious: are there ways to block individual trackers from the site’s (not the user’s) end? Almost like an ad-track blocker for hosts?

When I view the page, that code shows. Not the actual PDF file in my scribd library. I searched around and saw people where having this issue, but that was back on WordPress version 2.x. I’m using the latest 4.2.2. I really don’t want to host 50-60 PDF files on my own site – would so much rather use the Scribd, since I have a nice library built out. But why isn’t it working in wordpress?

I was wandering what could cause the loss of the iframe when post status changed from draft to published.
Thank you,

I had to resort to the flash version on my production site which does work. There is nothing I can find as to why everything but that works. Is it a scribd issue or WP issue?
I can use the flash but it is just more code to insert instead of the nice shortcode.

When I used the older embed code in my earlier posts, the reader appeared and worked fine.

Using the API, a thumbnail of the document produced by Scribd and the associated text about the document was posted automatically to the CMS.
Is this kind of thing possible in WordPress using elementary PHP? I’m thinking when I upload a document to Scribd, with the accompanying details, it would using the API auto-create a post in the Magazine category so users of my WordPress site could see the latest publication.
I know of the iPaper plugin but that needs manual entry, which seems a step backwards from the way we were.
Thanks!
