Scheduled backups not happening automatically

Hello,

First of all, thank you for this amazing plugin. I have been using the free version of the Updraft plus plugin on my website, hemamagesh.com for over 4 years now.

I have just noticed that the backups have not been happening for quite some time now, though they have been scheduled twice a day. The last log message says, “The backup apparently succeeded and is now complete”. But it does not show up on the existing backups on the Updraftplus dashboard. Neither is it found on the google drive for which I have given authentication. All settings are perfect. I tried backing up manually and it works. Not sure why the scheduled backups are not happening. Pl guide me on what to do.

It’s an excellent plugin. I always use Scheduled backups and full backups! And, when you need to restore, it’s just a few clicks! Great Job guys!

AWS Lightsail & Scheduled Backups

I am hosting a website on AWS Lightsail. Scheduled backups (and other WP cron) are not running. Is this a known issue with AWS Lightsail?

Nothing seems to work. Any advice?

Scheduled backups won’t run – Failed to open log file

Hi there,

We are using UpdraftPlus (free) on a Woocommerce webshop that is still in development.
Recently we have noticed that scheduled backups are refusing to run. We are getting the following error msg: Failed to open log file (/var/www/html/wp-content/updraft/log.7aa561972bcf.txt) – you need to check your UpdraftPlus settings (your chosen directory for creating files in is not writable, or you ran out of disk space). Backup aborted. (aug 06 01:00:05)

We have no problems with manual backups, these run normally and are successfull.

Some other background info:
– Backup destination: Google drive
– Backup schedule scheme: Every 12h
– Archive size setting: 100MB
– There is plenty of space available both on the server as the Google Drive storage
– Access rights for folder /var/www/html/wp-content/updraft/: apache:apache 0755

Also maybe worth mentioning: we have currently http basic auth in place to shield off visitors from the site as it is still being set up. I don’t feel like this should have anything to do with the backups not running, but I thought I’d mention it anyway.

Do you have any idea why these scheduled backups are failing?

Sometimes a little quirky, but love backing up to S3

I’ve experienced reliability for the most part. Could be because I use Elementor and Crocoblock that it’s been a little quirky sometimes, but nothing I can’t recover from. I love being able to backup to AWS S3 and scheduled backup feature with email alert is fantastic.

My scheduled backups do nothing

Hi,

I use your plugin in order to backup a site which has a form in it – It is viewed on an iPad (and has several entries every day) an the admin area is viewed on a PC.
Unfortunately, the daily scheduled backups do not accour – but “Backup now” button does work.

I asked my host service and they said they don’t find any problem on their side.
Would appreciate your help.

Plugin Performing Twice Daily Backups: None Scheduled

I recently deleted this plugin then reinstalled. Since then, it has been performing 2 backups/day at the same times. The problem is that I have explicitly NOT defined a backup schedule. This thing has a mind of it’s own. How can I correct this?

Very easy to install, setup and use. I can’t believe it’s free. No cost piece of mind. It backs up everything on your schedule to many storage options.
A definite must have no matter your level.

VaultPress drains bandwidth and Publicize doesn’t work.

Well, I’m just a user with zero technical competence.
I have today been advised to DISABLE Vaultpress as the likely culprit for my bandwidth going through the roof and causing my site to almost reach my hosting limits. I’ve received several warnings in the last few days and it’s highly likely that my site will be put off-line within hours. So. Using Vaultpress has cost me dearly, not only to get a technical team (private agency) to urgently look at my bandwidth problem and identify the reasons, but also because with the imminent festive season, all I can do is wait until January with my site probably off line.
I wish I never paid for this ‘Service’ bundle.
Even Publicize stopped working ages ago and Jetpack support couldn’t fix it. Nowadays, I can’t even find a way to get ‘support’ – all that’s available is documentation, but that’s no good if something stops working and you need assistance, is it, Automattic?
