Following the instructions for the Apache method on the ActivityPub plugin FAQ page, I added .htaccess file to my root directory with the following code:
RedirectMatch "^\/\.well-known/(webfinger|nodeinfo|x-nodeinfo2)(.*)$" /wp/.well-known/$1$2
While this worked, and now my blog has a fediverse profile, there is now an error when going to peterparker1.com. Is there a way to make peterparker1.com accessible again while also keeping peterparker1.com/wp connected to the fediverse?
]]>When I go to (WordPress > Tools > Backups) and run a backup manually, it reads “Backup my database and files (26 GB),” but the completed backups listed below are 1 GB.
When I go to my Host’s cPanel. (Host > File Manager > public_html_ > wp-content > backupwordpress-aca_____-backups) I see the 1 GB backups as zip files, but I also see a file that has a purple symbol and the type is “text/x-generic” that is 25.36 GB and has random letters and numbers as the file name.
QUESTION: Is that file the one that backups all of my site plus the root directory and that is why it is so much bigger?
Trying to understand why in WP it says backing up 26 GB and backup zips are 1 GB.
Thank you.

]]>I have disabled profile photo upload and instead I am using gravatars, however in the UM folder inside uploads I have noticed that for every user account created there’s a folder which it is associated with the new account, the thing is these folders are empty and are growing in number the more user accounts are created, ?I wonder if it is safe to delete them?

Best regards,
I have been having issues with Adsense and cannot seem to fix the issue of “One of your sites is missing the AdSense publisher ID in the ads.txt file.”
]]>Thanks in advance for any help with this!
I have 2 WordPress installs (blog and main), which means I have 3 htaccess files (blog, main, public).
Problem:
https://site/blog/post
redirects wrong to:
https://site/post
I’ve tried all three methods to get it to redirect correctly:
1. WordPress 301 redirection to SSL
2. 301 .htaccess redirect
3. Javascript redirection to SSL
This is a serious problem because it ruins all of my backlinks. Look forward to any advice! Thanks!
]]>My host pre-installed WP, and I believe that I indicated it should be installed in /wordpress. I set up a landing page, and assigned it as the “front page” in the WP dashboard. It displays fine at the /wordpress location shown above, but my root url still displays a generic WP layout (in fact, it still shows the default post & comment, even though I’ve already deleted both). I tried changing the “site URL” under general settings, but that didn’t make a difference.
Can anyone explain to me which steps of the linked article are appropriate for my case? I’m technologically fluent, but don’t have any background with server maintenance — if nothing else I could use some guidance to the right search terms so I can self-educate.
Thanks!
]]>2) I’ve set the permission for the root directory aka public_html to 750 instead of 755 but I don’t see how this can be a problem.
Best regards!
]]>Also my website is now automatically directing to www.drawnbyrhiannon.co.uk/Blog which is handy in a way as people are being directed when they type in www.drawnbyrhiannon.co.uk but I just don’t want the /Blog in every address of the website!
Thank you very much in advance to anyone who can take a minute and be patient with me to explain this.
