How do I create rollover text in 4.2.1?

I just upgraded to WP 4.2.1, and can’t figure out how to create what I think is called “rollover text” in this version. By that I mean, when the cursor is hovering over a link, a small box of text appears that can tell you something about that link (or whatever you type in). In the previous version, you could just click on “Insert/Edit Link”, and beneath the URL box, there was a second box in which you could type this “rollover text”. (If it’s called something else, please let me know.) That second box is no longer there.

I’m using the Weaver theme, if that’s any help.

Is there a new way to do this? I use this function constantly in my site, for a variety of purposes and effects, and it looks as if I can no longer do it.

alt or print not working for me

Print-o-matic v 1.5.2

Using [print-me alt=”Click me to print”] and [print-me title=”Click me to print”] shortcodes.

The printing works fine but the “Click me to print” rollover never shows. Where should I start looking to solve this?

Text Hover Solution for description

Hi,

I have a large amount of text on this page:

I would like to put the text within the grey “Course Curiculum” box into a rollover hover description over the words “Course Curriculum”.

So when the mouse rolls over these words a text box will appear with the full curriculum showin, when the mouse moves away then the box disappears.

Another option is to have a drop down area of text to show the full curriculum, which can then be hidden again as the viewer wishes.

Is there a widget or simple piece of html code that would do this for me?

2. put rollover/hover text over the social media icons as well as over the category buttons? For example, hovering my mouse over the FaceBook icon makes the text “Connect with me on FaceBook” come up.

Hello! I have a predicament that I’m hoping one of you has a solution too. I need to create a page with some linked text that when you rollover the links, a photo relating to that page is displayed. I was able to create this in Javascript but since PHP and Javascript don’t like each other, I can’t integrate that particular piece of code into the site. So… Does anyone know how to do this? Either in CSS or PHP?

My request is simply to learn how to make a single word in a bunch of text, have a rollover feature that would display a small text block with a definition for that word.

ie: in the following sentence, the word “Nixon” when hovered over with a cursor, would reveal a box of text containing: “37th President of the USA”

It was in his final year that Nixon reached the most controversy.
