I see a console warning for addRange(), everytime it loses focus or doesn’t allow me to get focus.

]]>Today is {my_block_date:y-m-d}
=> Today is 2022-3-16
.I need to:
– show a replacement value on the preview/frontend.
– show a replacement value in the block editor
– indicate in the block editor where the merge tag is used. Either by decorating the replacement value or showing the {merge_tag}
when the block content is being edited.
– (bonus) submit the block to the block directory.
Any idea how this can be do this?
## What I’ve tried:
– replacing the {merge_tage
} in php with add_filter('render_block',...)
. You cant see the values in the editor, and my understanding of the block directory guidelines is to keep php empty except for the register_block_type()
call.
– replacing the {merge_tag}
in edit.js
with setAttributes( {content: replaceMergeTags( newContent )} )
. This is destructive, replacing the tag on the front and backend with no indicator it was ever used.
– replacing the {merge_tag}
in edit.js
with <RichText ... value={replaceMergeTags( newContent )} />
. This keeps the original tag in the attribute, and shows the replacement in the editor, but you still need to use add_filter('render_block',...)
for the frontend, and no indicator of the tag was used in the editor.
1. The custom facebook description input field is basically useless if you want your description to be more than one line, as it does not accept any formatting whatsoever, not even line breaks. This makes the description look completely unstructured on facebook and instagram.
2. If I select the short description to be used, its a little better because there are line breaks. But the description on fb and instagram still looks messy because new lines get indented where bullet points were on woocommerce.
Changing the markup on our website to plain text just so it displays correctly on fb and instagram is not an option.
3. If I select the standard description to be used, the description on facebook and instagram is completely destroyed because it shows all shortcodes and formatting from woocommerce as plain text.
Facebook does accept rich text formatting in feeds, as stated here:
“If you use a data feed to manage your items, add the optional rich_text_description field to your feed to use rich text and HTML formatting in your description, such as bullet points or multiple paragraphs. This can help make your description easier to read, especially if it’s longer than 200 characters. You must still include a normal description as a fallback.”
(https://en-gb.facebook.com/business/help/2302017289821154?id=725943027795860)
Please share a workaround or include a rich text field in the plugin!
It must be possible to have the product descriptions displayed properly on facebook and instagram.
I thought I could fix this discrepancy by modifying the sample HTML code below but I don’t know where/ how to insert it in the product page.
I am using Woo with the Avada theme.
Any assistance would be much appreciated

I’m wondering whether/when it will be possible to use rich text within WPDA-fields.
I would really like this feature.
Kind regards,
Robert
