What do to with retired theme ?

Hi there.

I am supposed to update an old website, with 4.9.8 WordPress version and a retired theme.
If I update WordPress I suppose it will be a mess with the current them…

Have you ever experience such problem ? what is the best solution ? using one of the “Twenty” series ?

Hello,

As I rad in another thread, I can see Sela will retire (at least om the wordpress.com website).

Can anyone tell me when when exactly Sela theme will be discontinued? Hoping on good news (that it won’t). Because I like it a lot and I just recently mad my whole website on it.

What is the end date for support, and until when can I safely use the theme?

Another question, after chamging the menu bar colour, when using it, the menu bar sometimes turns to pink. Like your are scrolling over it, bus you aren’t. How can I fix this?

If Sela is discontinued, for how long will Stow be availabe? What is the life expectancy of this theme? I’m not sure how that works and if you can answer this question right now.

This theme Sela homepage states “This theme is retired” and the documentation that used to be there (according to links in a support forum I was following) is gone:

I wasn’t aware of using a retired theme. In fact, I’m not even running theme Sela that long.

This page suggests to get started with the theme:

So maybe it’s only retired for WordPress.com?

The plugin didn′t work due to an old JavaScript version (1.4.1). The latest version is 3.37. Is it easy to fix or are you planning an update to fix the issue?

This plugin is due to be retired. Changes to WordPress and Google’s free doc viewer mean that this plugin should be switched for an alternative.

Existing gview shortcodes should still work for now.

My hosted WordPress blog?aaamazingsite.wordpress.com uses the free Highwind theme (sadly now retired I see). I have been using this theme for the last two months and hope it will no longer be retired.

There have been many updates (and more significant ones on the horizon) to the plugin install process within the core of WordPress. As such, I have not had time to keep up with those changes nor to maintain this plugin. The following alert is posted on the description page:

People can not load my site

Some people can not load my site from Google. It also takes too long to load when it can be loaded. What can I do?

The 80 recently retired themes still work if you were using them, but can’t be move on your personal site if you were planning to.

So,

If you have chose one of those 80 theme before they were retire and made your site on wordpres : “mysite.wordpress.com”

Moving your site form “mysite.wordpress.com” to “mysite.com” will lose the theme in the process

meaning that I can’t transfer the site on “mysite.com”
(Note that this site is freshly client approved…)

Is there anyway to do this?
