My hosting provider deleted my entire wordpress site and database “by mistake” (I learned don’t go for the cheapest). LUCKILY I was using this plugin which meant my backups were saved in my google drive account (I would strongly advise setting up this free feature in the plug in and NOT having your back ups on your server). I changed hosting providers, uploaded my back up and was online immediately. I am so grateful for these guys as I would have lost 2 years of work otherwise.

I have had great luck with this plugin. Many sites transferred to new server using the migration tool and regular backups to Google Drives and other offsite storage storage systems

Progress Bar and Hung Uploads

I have UpdraftPlus on several websites, all on one VPS host, and they are behaving differently.

One is working perfectly.

One shows the blue progress bar during backup but cannot complete an upload to a remote server. (It stops somewhere between 30 and 70% each time, with something like “Googledrive chunked upload: 34.7 % uploaded (17825792)” reported.

One shows the blue progress bar for a split second and then it disappears, and cannot complete an upload to a remote server. Similar “Googledrive chunked upload: 34.7 % uploaded” at suspension.

Two more are working perfectly.

The sites aren’t exact mirrors in terms of plugins and settings but I have tried deactivating plugins and have not been able to get successful progress bars or backups.

Suggestions are welcome, thank you!

Hello, I have a wordpress upgrade that didn’t go quite right. I’ve made several attempts to get the site working with no luck and have decided to restore from an updraft backup. The problem I’m having is the backup is on remote google drive only (no local backups) but I don’t know what Google drive the backups are sent to. I’ve checked the backup logs and verified that it is backing up to google drive and looked in the database options table to try and find out which google account the files are being sent to but can’t seem to locate it anywhere. Does anyone know how to find out which google account a remote backup is being sent to? I’ve logged into all the google drive accounts I can remember but don’t see the backup files in any of the accounts. Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

Q on Google Drive backups

I have been backing up a number of sites to one Google Drive account, and similar with a Dropbox account on other sites. Since I’m using the free version of Updraft, backup files from all sites are in one Google Drive or DropBox folder. I just discovered that if I click the Rescan Remote link, I see a list of backups from all backups in the Google Drive folder, including backups from sites other than the one I clicked the link in. I also just found I can download a backup from site 2 when logged into site 1.

Is this the way free Updraft works on cloud services like Google Drive and Dropbox, or is there a way to prevent this that I’m not aware of?

Out of Memory Error

After performing the backup the website died and I got the following error at log:

[2019-06-09 21:20:44][error]Out of memory (allocated 243269632) (tried to allocate 28672 bytes) file:/mnt/myhost/wp-content/plugins/wpvivid-backuprestore/includes/class-wpvivid-restore-database.php line:755

243269632 > 28672 So I dont understand why there is an error since 28672 is smaller.

For info my host is strato.de

What is this max value? Max of what? How can I increase it? To what value do I need to increase it? The backup file is 82MB. Any help would be appreciated!.

I have bought different types of backups plugin but when I was recommended to try WPvivid backup it blew my mind it was so easy local, various remote and migration backups which are paid in other backups plugins. I highly recommend WPvivid Backup.

BackUp via remoute FTP error is totally different between Mode config options?

Hi,Plugin Authors, would like to enquire about the issue I encountered about this great plugin’s backup to remoute FTP feature, why I got different backup feedback message from testing button, via remote FTP method .

when I Test Ftp connection with:
Passive mode: checkbox unchecked,

I get below result:

the FTP replay would be : FTP settings test result: success; we successfully logged in , and confirmed our ability to create a file in the given directory ( login type: non-encrypted)

however, when I backup it via this none-passive mode setting,
updraftplus plugin will not send the file to remoute FTP successfully,
and the actuall message in the error log , will be the same with when FTP passive mode has been checked :

0984.022 (3) ERROR: FTP upload failed

Any idea how to debug it?

As for the FTP server’s acl permission,
I’ve checked that the security group, for the server is already configured:.
security group inbound rules is set to allow all tcp traffic (including 21 ftp) to access the server.

and for server file permission destination path is already set to chmod 777,
it is confirmed that we use the same ftp credentials login via FileZilla client which can create files and folders in the target path we set.
( and that’s probably why in none-passive mode connection test, we can get a : FTP settings test result: success; feedback from plugin’s setting’s none-passive mode ftp test. but, that message is not working in actuall uploading and could be confusing.
