Bravo for the quality of the support. Not only is it rapid and effective; it goes beyond the call of duty, helping to solve problems that are not always 100% due to the plugin itself.

I appreciate, too, the fact that there are regular releases of improvements and fixes.

While the plugin is OK at what it does, the team does a poor job at testing. This is the 4th time that a recent update breaks my site and impact my users. The team could do a better job of testing the plugin before release of update.

This is taking into consideration that on my main WP Instal I am always running onwe version behind to give all the plugins developers a fair chance to update their plug ins.

If I search for a tag in the plugin directory, the results seem to be sorted by the number of active installations. Among the top results are always plugins that are marked compatible with WordPress 2.x.x or 3.x.x – which is quite old considering that we have already 5.0.3. These plugins are only popular because they are already available a long, long time.

I think it is not a good idea to highlight plugins that are not actively maintained for so long. 2.6.2, for example, was over 10 years ago! Apart from issues around compatibility, I think that authors who keep their plugins up-to-date should be rewarded with a more competitive position.

Plugins that are behind more than one major release (1.x.x) could be sorted to the bottom.

Unable to release a new version in the plugin directory

Hello,

I am trying to launch a new version of my plugin by following the manual about how to use SVN. I modify Stable tag in trunk/readme.txt and Version in the plugin file, and then

svn cp trunk tags/my-new-version
svn ci -m "Releasing my-new-version"

But nothing happens. The new version is not rolling out. I’m not new to development and VCS in general, I use Git on a daily basis and used SVN ages ago, but I guess I’m missing something here.
