Base directory redirects to install page

I installed a new copy of version 6.11. in MAMP. When I click the “Visit Site” link I receive this error:

The file?wp-config.php?already exists. If you need to reset any of the configuration items in this file, please delete it first. You may try?installing now.

I can choose to view any page or post and it works fine. I can view the “Home” page, but if I select a static page in the “reading” settings and make the “Home” page my homepage, I get the above error. In fact, if I select any page for the static page I get that error.

So going to localhost:8888/site-name/ gets the error, but localhost:8888/site-name/home/ does not, even though they should be going to the same page.

In doing research into this I have seen the same issue reported for 12 years, but never an answer.

Your homepage displays settings options missing

Just set up a new wp install with Classic Editor for first time about a year, and one of the first things I do is change the ‘Your homepage displays’ Reading Settings to display a static page. This option is completely missing in the new install and is critical for my client’s site.

Is there an awareness of this and/or a projected timeline for a fix? Impacting my client’s website production schedule.

“reading” settings not working

I have installed and re-installed WordPress two or three times. Always the result of going to the admin is the same. Following instructions, if have created a simple home page containing nothing but text. Then in “Settings/Reading setting” set Static Page and set Front Page to home. Then selected “Visit Site” at the top of the Dashboard. The result is simply a presentation of all of the files and directories in the wordpress folder installed in Apache/htdocs/wrdprs.

My environment is on my local machine, Windows 7. Using MySQL 5.7. PHP 7.

Timeline Template not showing

Am interested in using the Timeline template for my new Blog page.
Its not making any difference to the blog page what am I missing here please ?

“building” page doesn’t show when activating polylang

Hellow!
I′m using Polylang with AVADA 5.2.
When activating Polylang, wordpress (just updated) ignores reading settings and does not show selected “building” page. It replaces by generic “Home” not created by me. If disable Polylang, wordpress would show the static page selected.

Otherwise, Polylang was working fine.

Any ideas?

Homepage post limit?

Hello,

Firstly, thanks for this awesome theme.

I have a little problem with first page. It doesn’t show all the posts and post count won’t change even if I change the number form reading settings. Does this theme have some sort of first page post limit? I don’t know what to do. Can you help me?
Maybe there’s an opportunity to add “older posts” button in the footer of a homepage?

5 extra posts visible on homepage and blog page

Hi everyone,
I am getting issue that 5 extra posts are visible on my homepage and blog page. I have selected 12 posts per page from reading settings. But it displaying 17 posts. And the 1st 5 posts are too old in publish date and after that 5 my select number of new posts displaying. I tried to figure it out. But no success. I am attaching screenshot of my website.

Can’t save Reading Settings

I can’t save any settings in Reading section. It has been set since the beginning to Front Page Displays: Static Page > Home.

I cannot change it to anything else – to display latest Posts, any other pages, etc. It just constantly displays the Home page as the static page as it was set to initially.
