However, when I try to set the static front page and the blog page in Reading Settings, the drop down for selecting a page only shows Sample Page, and similarly when I try to set the home page and blog page using Customize > Customize Homepage.
Please would you advise how to sort this?
Thanking you in advance for your help and advice.
I’m developping a child theme on a Woocommerce site, based on Storefront.
This website contains a blog. Articles work fine, and I can target categories via links from the menu and the breadcrumbs.
Problem is I couldn’t find the URL of the blog page, listing all articles (whatever category they’re in)… All my researchs ended up on topics to prommote Storefront Blog Customizer (pretty frustrating).
So I tried to create a page called Blog (I tried with other names), and set it up to be the Article page (via WP settings). But this page strangely uses the same template as the home page (defined in the child page as home.php).
Am I overlooking something obvious ? I spent some time on the Storefront documentation, but found nothing relevant.
Any help would be appreciated
Settings > Reading > Your homepage displays > A static page > selecting Homepage
or
Appearance > Costomize > Homepage Setting…
But I can’t use it now on two Websites because I can’t find this section anywhere.
Please help me…
]]>I have been using WordPress for almost 5 years now. Recently started on a new website and I’m having a problem with my own static pages.
Up until now, when I created a page on any of my projects, I would get a blank white page with nothing on it. Now suddenly WordPress seems to think that it’s a ‘blog page’, and shows me a number of posts on every single page I make. When I change the ‘Reading’ settings to show a different amount of posts, it changes the number of posts listed. Furthermore, the button in the dashboard called ‘edit page’ disappears. I have tried changing my permalinks to the ‘Plain’ structure, which fixes the issue (the page become completely white). This however gives me a nasty URL (mywebsite.com/?p5). I’m thinking it might be a problem with my permalinks. I do have a URL preference, being www.mywebsite.com/title_of_page_or_post/.
I have never experienced this issue before and really cannot find any documentation or other people who have this issue on the internet.
I have to add that it is also the first time I am developing a WordPress website on a local host. I am using Vagrant & virtual box and the box I found on https://vccw.cc/
Please help! Thanks a lot
Lucas
]]>Of course I can insert “read more’ breaks but I would rather find a low-maintenance way.
Ideally I would set the top post on each blog longer, those underneath shorter.
Is there a straightforward way of doing this, or a good plug in recommendation?
I don’t want to be hacking core code
]]>My blog is comedytwo.com.
When I click on page 2 it shows no post.
Also, on homepage it only shows one post, when I change the setting under reading to show 5 posts and save it the number changes to 1 again.
This is getting very annoying.

]]>Under the Reading setting “Blog pages show at most” has automatically changed to 1. When I change the number to 5 and save it again changes to 1. This is very annoying!
Also, on my homepage when you go to the pagination and click on Next or page 2 it doesn’t show.
Why is this happening?
My blog is comedytwo.com.
]]>My solution of course is to just not put anything in the Posts age but I really like to know how to.
]]>In each category (Home, World, ShowBiz..) if I click on the “Video” section title, it will lead to a listing of all videos https://news.abnxcess.com/category/home/videos/.
The problem is, there’s only 10 videos listed and the pagination for it is on the right side where people won’t be able to see. How can I make the listing shows 30 videos per page plus a pagination on the bottom?
I don’t want to change the Reading Setting in the Dashboard because it will change the other listing in others category (example for Biz category) https://news.abnxcess.com/category/biz/?ismore=1.
I already tried $query = new WP_Query( ‘posts_per_page=30&cat=videos’ );
