Embed Quicktime Movie in 2015

Hello, I found two posts about how to embed quicktime movies into wordpress from 9 years ago. They didn’t solve my issue. I have my quicktime movies on my hard drive and uploaded them to my wordpress media library. When I added them to a post, they became a hyperlink. I viewed them in the post and when I click on the link it says to activate quicktime plugin.

I googled like crazy to no avail. Please help.

Hey guys, I downloaded your plugin years ago because of the [quicktime] support for quicktime movies. But I just noticed that my older posts now won’t play in the post anymore.
I get a “missing plugin” message.

How can I get them to work again?
Did you guys stop supporting the [quicktime] code within a post?

WordPress, Videos & iPads

Situation: We’re a 1-1 iPad school and our kids have ePortfolios on WordPress. It works great, except wordpress won’t embed the videos uploaded from the iPads (because iPads compress video in Quicktime format before uploading). With older kids we can have them embed unlisted youtube videos. However we can’t do so for the younger kids.

Question: How can we upload and embed videos from the iPad directly into WordPress

.MOV videos (from iPhone and Mac) do not play

Hello:

This is my first wordpress site, so bear with me.

I am gay and in Moscow, so started a “whats it like being gay in Moscow” blog. I have only posted about five or six times, but the issues with video are frustrating.

I have been going to gay dance clubs and shooting video with my iPhone. I have then transferred them to my Mac. I go to the dashboard for my site, hit media, upload the videos.

When I then go to post and hit ‘media,’ and add the videos, it creates links to the file names. I would prefer the videos to be embedded in the post, but whatever, that’s fine.

The problem is when I then publish the posts and click on the links, the Quicktime logo will appear momentarily, and then nothing. It’s just a blank screen. Here’s an example:

What am I doing wrong?

(One video did correctly post, and you can see it at Moscow Boy George. I thought maybe it was an issue with the video’s length, but I have gigs available on my server and that’s a seven second video compared to the twenty second durations for the other videos. Length shouldn’t be it.)

No 'Embed Media Player' Option for MOV files?

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if Quicktime files are supported by the native WP embedded media player. When I try to add .mov video to a Post but I am not given the option of using ‘Embed Media Player’ ( I just get ‘link to media file’ or ‘attachment page’ ). When I try to embed the same video encoded as .m4v the option is there. Can anyone shed any light on this? I really don’t want to install another plugin I possible.

iOS 7 video playback issues

in ios6 the wiredrive plug in worked great. our quick times opened as quicktimes.
in iOS7 on my ipad mini, the videos either dont open or have to go through some weird refresh thing several times.

I’m guessing this is an issue with how iOS deals with video or html5 (?) — any suggestions how to keep our site cross platform.

if you wait it might play, but im worried that people (potential new clients) will not be patient enough to let them load (like i was initially) or that they wont load.

quicktime movie webisodes

I am creating pages for my site that need to include 3-4 quicktime movie clips (webisodes). I have figured out how to insert the media but all I see are the file names. Since that is terribly ugly, I’d like to insert a graphic and have it link to the media file when clicked. Alternatively, they could display the first screen shot of the file, like a youtube video does.
Can someone tell me how to do this?

Video Embedding Plug-In's not Working

Hi, I’m somewhat new to WordPress, and have uploaded it to my domain name on 1&1 hosting. This is a whole other issue altogether, but 1&1 is quite a pain with WordPress and I would not recommend it.

The problem I’m facing is embedding quicktime videos to WordPress. The only consistent plug-in I have found for this is Kaltura All in One Video Pack:

It works pretty good, and provides a nice player. But the HTTP url’s used by this plug-in are generated from Kaltura’s, and eventually if I upload enough through them I will have to pay for an account. Also, this adds and extra step, and I would rather be able to embed videos directly from my WP Media Library, as this will save time because many of my subscribers upload videos here.

The other plug-in’s I have tried are:

These two you are meant to enter some code in the post with the movie HTTP url for example

For these, I wasn’t sure to enter the code into the Visual or HTML screen, but either way when I published my post, all I saw was the code….no video.

I also tried plug-in:

For this one I couldn’t even find the button in the post screen that supposedly allows me to easily embed video.

The last methods I have tried were writing straight up HTML code for embedding video in the post and using the plug-ins:

The results of all of these were a Quicktime player that only showed the big Q with a question mark showing no content. I’m not sure if this is a problem with the quicktime on my computer?? Also, I’m using the HTTP url generated from files uploaded in WP Media Library. Could this also be creating the question mark in the Quicktime player?

Any suggestions you have to easily embed video in my posts in an esthetically pleasing way straight from the WP Media Library would be extremely helpful.
