I am trying to modify some strings for my Book Publisher theme that I installed yesterday. I’ve had mostly good luck, but need some help still. Any help would be appreciate, and TIA.
1.) On the homepage, the designers made it say, “0 comment,” which drives me nuts. Which .php file do I need to modify to get rid of the comment count on the homepage? I’ve looked, but cannot find any.
2.) I want to post a link to the category for my blog. Is there a way to modify it so that the results page doesn’t say, “category:”?
3.) I can’t seem to find the excerpt option in my editor so that I can make the page break on the homepage disappear. Right now, it just cuts the excerpt off mid-sentence and I’d like it to look prettier.
Again, any help is much appreciated!
]]>I have come over from years of working with XOOPS.. followed by years of not working with websites at all (except Shopify.. where I was a guru- front line help getting users over hurdles) so.. while I’m experienced a bit.. WordPress does things differently and it’s taken me awhile to feel comfortable with the overall platform.
That being said- this plug in ( I keep wanting to call it an APP or Module ) is awesome. I’m particularly interested in the “Claim This Listing” feature for one of my sites.
The installation was a breeze.. not like XOOPS modules but pretty much exactly as WordPress Plug Ins- easy as clicking “install” and letting the script do it’s thing.
Customization has started.. I’ve added a horrendous number of sub groupings and it’s still humming away with ease.
I have only just started adding in data but that’s as easy as making a blog post.
All in all- two thumbs up and I am looking forward to taking this plug in to different sites for various purposes. If you are thinking of a “Directory” plug in.. I’d say- nothing better than this one and it’s got everything you’ll want.
]]>Admin and WordPress is configured @ https://blog.domain.com
Site address is configured @ https://www.domain.com/blog
The front end of the site is proxied thru an IIS server @ https://www.domain.com/blog but the wp-admin is accessed at https://blog.domain.com/wp-admin
The webstories publisher seems to fail when saving/publishing/deleting any stories as the https://blog.domain.com address as it is making API calls to the proxied (https://www.domain.com/blog/wp-json/web-stories/v1/) address but if we change the Site address to match the WordPress address in the general settings it works fine.
We can launch the publisher and start creating a story. Adding assets to the pages and adding buttons and text just fine. Then upon saving draft the publisher starts sending a series of network requests thru the proxied path with URLs like:
GET https://www.domain.com/blog/wp-json/web-stories/v1/publisher-logos/?_locale=user
POST https://www.domain.com/blog/wp-json/web-stories/v1/status-check/?_locale=user
GET https://www.domain.com/blog/wp-json/web-stories/v1/fonts/?_locale=user
and those all 403 with
{“code”:”rest_cookie_invalid_nonce”,”message”:”Cookie check failed”,”data”:{“status”:403}}
We host WP with WP engine and have an exclusion in place for /wp-json/web-stories/ so it isn’t caching the requests.
Our solution has been to just change the settings, build what we need and then set the settings back as once created, stories themselves are served just fine thru the proxy once built. It’s just the publisher that is causing us the headaches.
Any help would be appreciated.
]]>I recently installed All in One SEO plugin. Immediately, I got 20 warnings in Search Console saying “Error in required structured data element”. I checked the pages with Rich Results Test and it says “Invalid object type for the field “publisher”. I am also using the AMP plugin.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

]]>With a recent update (possibly March 2022) the functionality was added to select the “order by” column from a drop down list of column names. (Great idea!)
However, I seem to find that the column names are offset by 1 position (similar to the situation when they were referenced by column number commencing at 0).
I have a table with 3 columns (Column1, Column2, Column3)
I find, if I want to order by Column3 then I need to select Column2 from the dropdown list. If I want to order by Column2 then I need to select Column1 etc
This is an easy work around but:
a) How do I order by Column1? There is obviously no offset name in the dropdown list.
b) If I select my last Column Name from the List (eg Column3) the table does not display at all.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
I have the premium version running WordPress 5.8.3, php version 7.4.27
]]>Although our stories are from the same domain, there are different entities of the business that have different logos. We see all of the different logos in the plugin settings, but there is only one “default”. Thanks in advance.
