Press This: Default category?

I have a non tech-savvy user that uses Press This. She can remember to hit “Scan” to pull images, but she can’t consistently remember to select a category (“News”).

Is there a way of just having all Press This created posts default to a specific category?

I use PressThis to create many of my posts. Mostly when I do this is it successful. However, increasingly frequently, it is not. For example, then I go to this URL:

and use Press This, the image and extract is not found. Sometimes when this happens, I can use the Scan button, but in this case (and in others) that makes it worse. You can probably replicate this using the link I have given. Any idea why is this happening and what can be done in cases like this? Hope someone can help

I have a site at https://souliloquy.com I run WordPress 4.7 and all my plugins and themes are up to date. The current theme is WP Invictus 1.3 I’m working with a MacBookPro 2011 with 16gb Ram and Mac OS 10.12.2

Recently, out of the blue, when I post something using PressThis, I get an error message when the page opens:

Warning: CURL failed to execute on URL “/delete?q=id%3Apost_2820” in /home/hawcroft/public_html/souliloquy.info/wp-content/plugins/opensearchserver-search/lib/oss_abstract.class.php on line 177

I can ignore the message and all proceeds as it should.

However, it bothers me that this is happening and I wonder if anyone can give me some idea what I might do. Should I contact WordPress, PressThis, the Theme owner or what?

I apolgise if I’ve picked the wrong place to ask. I am not very IT literate. I can follow instructions but don’t have the IT “brain”.

I’d appreciate any help or advice anyone can give.

Press this (bookmaklet) : languages are not set

I frequently use the WP bookmarklet (Press this) to publish articles.

However, when i use it, article’s language is “not set” and, if i modify the article, the original text will appear the same in all languages.

qtranslatex should be implemented into bookmaklet to avoid that.

Maybe someone could suggest me some trick to let me use Press this with qtranslate as simple (and efficient) as possible.

PressThis Feature: Choose Which Post

Is it possible to enable PressThis to select a current post from the current draft posts and add content to the existing post?

This would be really nice for creating list posts, adding links and likely other things I haven’t thought of myself. Instead of creating a fresh post each time you could add content to an existing post (not yet published).

I’m thinking about a dropdown list which could popup along with the post window. It seems possible when categories and tags work via PressThis.

login error message after using press this

Hello,
When logging into www.drliou.wordpress.com I’m getting this message:”You have exceeded the login limit. Please wait a few minutes and try again.”
This happened the first attempt today.
Yesterday I implemented the PressThis option for an article on my website
www.returntohealthpress.com to import to another website of mine www.stopeverydaypain.com
I have all three sites linked via jetpack but the two latter are hosted through bluehost (and I have no problem logging into these two)
Is it possible that the press-this import is what caused the problem?
It’s the only thing that I did with my websites before this problem started.
I appreciate any ideas anyone has to offer. Thanks.

The technical note here worked for the previous version of Press This, however it doesn’t seem to work for the current version. I haven’t been able to find an updated solution as I get a 404 error when clicking the button. I am on Hostgator and using WordPress 4.2.2. eastwoodhouston.com. Appreciate any assistance, thanks!!

PressThis image frame cut off on bottom

The full image shows up in the editor, but is cut off when published.

When I inspect the element with Google, it looks like the full image is there, the embed is just under the footer (author name and tags).

BB blocks "Press This" in 4.2

I upgraded to the new WordPress 4.2 which includes a revamped “Press This” bookmarklet. Unfortunately, Bad Behavior blocks the use of the bookmarklet on any site other than my own. Is there a way to fix the bookmarklet or perhaps whitelist it?
