I logged in this morning to make a new post, and when I went Posts > Add New. I got this error:
Warning: Creating default object from empty value in
/homepages/4/d654779611/htdocs/newblog/wp-admin/includes/post.php on
line 708
All of my old posts content were still in WP, but every link I went to on the blog resulted in a page not found 404 error.
I backed up my blog files and re-installed WP, and theme. I also went back 1 day and restored the database.
Now when I try and publish a post I get this error:
Publishing failed. The response is not a valid JSON response.
The blog posts are also still not showing up on the site, even though all the content is still in the All Posts tab.
I should mention that this domains main website https://www.americanveteransaid.com uses a separate WP install and theme.
Been running these two WP sites on the same domain for about 3 years now, and never had a problem until now. Does anyone know what could be happening or how to fix it? I’ve tried everything.
Thanks for any help.

Everything is fine except this one big fat problem: Some of the post types are not showing up when the user is not logged in.
The pourpose of the site is that user can log in if they want to. There is some paid membership option to let the user gain access to different features like submitting jobs or submitting their company so that it can be displayed in the listings. This is acomplished via the s2member – plugin (free version)
When the user is logged out he/she should see the normal homepage and when logged in an overview of all functions of the network, which is functioning just fine as well.
On the homepage there should be a display of the most recent posts, joblistings and partner companys as well. I use a carousel to accomplish this. In my admin settings I need to check the post type for them and it works all fine when logged in but when logged out I always get an “no items found” error where the listings should be.
It’s kinda strange since these post types are not limited or marked as private or need some membershiplevel to access them. But they are showing up in my sidebar without a problem.
I searched a long time in the support forums of both BuddyPress and WordPress but did not find an solution for my problem.
I already tried to
– disable the BP Simple Privat Plugin
– viewing the site in different browsers (Google Chrome, Opera, Safari, IE, Firefox)
– checked the gerneral and read/write settings
– checked the buddypress settings for site tracking
– checked the visibility of each individual site
– save the permalinks again
– cleared the cache
– deactivated the plugins
– switched to another theme
but nothing works. Has anyone an idea?
Thanks for the help.

So, I’ve set up my homepage to show the latest posts from my blog. The problem is that the posts aren’t showing under the main blog page, but they do show up in the homepage.
When I change the settings to “static page” for the homepage and blog page and choose “blog” page, my homepage shows a bunch of links for pages that aren’t included in my primary navigation menu, but under the main blog page, the posts do show up.
I don’t know what to do, and I’m not tech savvy for these things. Please, explain as I were a five-year-old.
Thanks,
Kat
]]>It is possiblethat the posts that aren’t showing up are the ones that I imported from a WordPress.com site when I set this up, but they used to show up at first (on the first page, though, because there were less posts at that time).
Could this be a content views issue?

]]>There are lots more posts. It is possible (though I’m not sure) that the ones that aren’t showing are exactly the ones that I imported from a WordPress.com blog when I set this up…but they were definitely showing when I set this blog up. Also, I can still view the older posts, and the urls seem to all be in the same format.
Any clues?
]]>I am having trouble with my posts and blog page. I want my blog page to show a summary of the posts. Now, this use to happened I’m not sure what changed to make it not show up anymore. It seems as though the post summary is invisible? When I was looking at the page confused as to what happened to make this post disappear out of nowhere, I noticed that if I dragged my mouse over the blank space that the summary use to be, it made a hand icon rather than the default arrow icon, so I clicked it and the Post picture I set showed up then I returned to the blank blog page and clicked where the continue reading would be and the whole post opened up in a new page? The post is showing up in the sidebar (title and picture) but for whatever reason I cannot get it to show up as a summary on the blog page.
Any help?? I really wanted to get this site up over a week ago and I’ve been contacting the developers and they aren’t much help…
Ps. I am also new to WordPress
Thanks!!
