Editing background of all posts to plain white without changing pages background

So, I’m using a theme called Edge and I have a background image set as the background within the theme. I’m starting a blog for my posts and I just want an all-white background instead of that image but I don’t want to mess with my theme settings and mess up the rest of my pages.

Any help with how to do this would be great. I tried a few different things but I am not sure exactly what the CSS code would be and where it should go – If it would be a plug-in I have to download, or a code input in the theme somehow, or within WordPress. I did put custom code in my theme settings that changed the text color, but I didn’t know the proper code (since I copied and pasted that coding from a forum discussion) for what I needed (background white for all posts, not pages).

It seems like it should be simple, but with that said I can’t figure it out. :O

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I see that “posts” shows only the titles at user’s profile. Can the posts show nicely, for example with post’s thumbnails?

Can you please tell me about Posts Format like ”video”, ”aside”, ”image”, ”gallery” …? How can we put for example YouTube video format in post to be on front page of theme?

Author not displaying next to time stamp

Hi all,

I’ve just installed 3.6.1. I’m using the new 2013 theme for WordPress. For reasons I don’t understand the author name isn’t displaying.

The public display name option in user profile is set. I switched to the old 2011 theme to see if there was the same problem and there was – no author name appearing. So, as this doesn’t seem to be a problem in the theme code I must be able to change something in the Admin panel to make the author name appear.
