How to show post summary on home page instead of full content

We have tried to get the home page to show post summaries instead of the full posts on the home page. We changed the setting in WordPress settings, but it does not change how posts are displayed on the home page. Is there a way to do that in Foodielite?

Hi there… I have a number of issues with the Biscuit Lite theme that I’m hoping you can help me with.

1. How can I show the first paragraph of the posts in the blog page? I already checked the settings to show the summary instead of the full post.

2. Why are there two dates listed under the post title? I want to show the posting date only. You demo also has two dates under the title.

3. How can I increase the size of the header/title text?

Using a ‘Read More’ block causes the excerpt + link to be shown twice.

As the title says, using a ‘Read More’ block in a blog post causes the excerpt and ‘continue reading’ link to be shown twice, one after the other. How do I fix this?

Help with getting post excerpts on home page

I have full posts on the home page and am trying to change to excerpts with a link to full post. I can’t seem to make this happen. I’ve tried the excerpt settings for each post and Dashboard->Settings->Reading setting for “Summary”.

I’ve tried on existing post and new posts and have emptied page cache.

I’m sure I’m missing something. Help appreciated.

I am using Twenty Seventeen Theme for my site, in my blog page the post are showing the full content not the summary of it.

In the setting i have set it summary still unable to do so.

Settings -> Reading -> For each article in a feed, show Summary

Placing cursor anywhere on the post preview area (title, cover image, ‘read more’ button, links, plain text itself) highlights the plain text in the post summary.

How do I remove highlight from the plain text?

I have the Reading Setting set to ‘Summary’, but I still see the entire post on my blog page. I really just want a snippet. I’ve changed the setting to ‘Full Text’ and back to ‘Summary’ a couple times, but nothing changes on the blog page.

html tags stripped from blog summaries

I note that the page …/posts/, which contains summaries of the recent blog postings, strips the html tags from the text before displaying the summaries. I can live with the

tag being removed, although it is not ideal. But I also have on occasion a ^{tag, not to mention an anchor . When the ^{is removed, the text looks weird.

I have not seen this behavior with my previous theme, so I suppose it has something to do with Vanilla. How would you suggest I change the functionality so as to leave certain tags in the summaries?}}

Hello.

I’m having a problem with the blog summary on my posts page and on my recent post section on my front page. For some reason the blog posts summary display a landscape image even though I’ve set all the options to “portrait image”.

This is really irritating and I’d be really glad if someone could help me find the problem. (I also changed the option to “portrait image” in the single post).
