I create a Post Type but I can’t figure out how to add the default WordPress excerpt so that the excerpt shows on the archive page in the list of posts.
I am using Kadence Theme with Kadence blocks but I don’t think that is relevant. If I can just figure out how to use the default WordPRess excerpt it should work fine.
The site is behind a coming soon page so can’t link to it.
Can you help please.
Many Thanks
Vernita

]]>I’ve been running support requests with Elementor as well, and Unlimited Elements (plugin running the ‘post grid’) and they are coming up empty… so, I thought I’d check with you all because I used your plugin to export and Import these custom post types.
Is there a chance the post excerpts have disappeared or are hidden but used/called by these other plugins? Here’s the request I sent to UE, which should offer the whole story for background.
I duplicated a page that was showing a text summary instead of the breadcrumbs (Banff).
Notice that the summary text for Revelstoke and Sun Peaks reads, “We offer a variety of Banff vacation packages.”
Banff was the page I duplicated.
I’ve looked at Banff, and these other pages (Revelstoke & Sun peaks), and all I can find in the code is a reference to uc_post_text. Screenshot: https://capture.dropbox.com/8wjBwTrAZ7K1wYop
I guess we are back to trying to find where these texts are coming from. And, why are some working and others not?
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Rob

I tried: [mctagmap post_excerpt=”yes” show_posts=”yes”] and
[mctagmap post-excerpt=”yes” show-posts=”yes”]
But not working, instead shows keywords.
Any help? TIA
]]>Is there a way to add a Subtitle to a post so that it is treated like dynamic content?
Long version:
I want to be able to add both a Title and a Subtitle to some (but not all) of my posts. There doesn’t seem to be a way to do it. My thought was to use the excerpt field and the Post Excerpt block as a work around but for any post where I don’t specify an excerpt, WordPress automatically generates one.
So… Is there a way to add a subtitle to the post query? Or, failing that, is there a way to have WordPress stop auto-generating content in the Post Excerpt block unless I create that excerpt when I create (or edit) the post?
Thanks in advance for any advice or help.
]]>I find that while the “post excerpt” are visible in every other page like the Tag page(s) or the Category page(s), date pages, author pages, it is not visible in the “blog post page”
I made a page and made it the blog post page
(refer: Settings> Reading Settings> Post page)
While in that “post page” everything else is working normal, the post excerpt are not visible.

]]>I need some suggestions on how I might be able to open the “Read more” link in post excerpts in a new tab. I’m using a query loop to populate a page, and within that query loop I have things like Post Title, Post Date, Post Excerpt, etc. What I’m trying to do is get the embedded “Read more” hyperlink to open in a new tab instead of just opening in the same window.
If you view the link I’ve provided you’ll see the post excerpts and “Read more” part at the end that I’m referring to.
Is there a way to do this without editing any of the PHP files? It seems like I cannot use CSS to accomplish this, correct? Also, I only want to do this for two specific pages, not across the board on all pages on the site.
I hope my explanation of what I’m trying to accomplish is sufficient. Please let me know if you need any clarification at all. And most importantly, TIA for your help!!!
