I have no idea what platform you are testing on but in the real world this simply *crushes* performance both on upgrades and fresh installs.
The whole release feels like you just wanted to add *eye candy* and would hazard a guess that most users simply do not need these features.
With countless quality of life features still missing from WooCommerce I think it incredible that this is what you have chosen to pursue for the latest major version.
]]>If I have WF Firewall enabled, the WF plugin loading time has doubled as compared to the 6.* version and it become really noticeable. I have 20+ sites with shared hosting (using different hosts) and WF plugin v7.1.3 load time there is anywhere between 0.25 and 0.45 sec. It is almost 80% of total load time for all plugins (i.e. all other plugins take 20% of total) and it is almost 50% of total page loading time. This is a lot! See screenshot from one of my sites here
However, if I disable the firewall then the load time drops to under 0.1 sec…
I am really upset about performance issues here – page loading time is critical for Google SERP, so if things don’t change I will be switching away from Wordfence. Yes, security is certainly important but I don’t want to lose my clients due to the drop in search index and high bounce rates as a result of slow page loading.
]]>while trying to optimize one of my client’s site I was intrigued that PageSpeed reported server wait time as much as 3 seconds, but never less than ~0.9se which was quite a long time – if you take into account that site is hosted on premium LiteSpeed based environment with caching plugin.
So, I’ve asked administrators from my hosting about the issue and they reported that LiteSpeed Cache plugin requires manual activation server-side. I have no problem with that. However, I wasn’t aware of that fact.
The question is – is it possible for the plugin to know that it can’t function to its full extent and in case it cant’ – communicate to its user that caching module isn’t activated on their server and the performance may be low? That should be a warning with suggestion to contact server administrators.
Activating the plugin server-side fixed all issues and all of my sites open instantly with zero perceivable delay.
]]>It has started going really slowly.
We have run p3 plugin profiler and it doesn’t show any particular plugin slowing things down.
I have checked at the server level and there isn’t a heavy load or any particular bottle necks on the processor or memory.
I have restarted Apache and MySQL on the server.
We have turned various plugins on and off and it has made no difference.
Please someone, anyone, give us some advice as to how to pin point the problem and then fix it.
Thanks in advance.
