I like the GeneratePress theme so far. I have a very basic site setup, three .PNG images have transparent backgrounds.
The images display fine, but instead of transparency I see the checkered background that normally indicates a lack of any color.
Will someone please see if they can help me? My site is at elsethserver.ddns.net
Thanks in advance for your time.
]]>How do I reactivate the plugin so it does not start processing images and ruin my transparent PNG thumbnails? Then how do I keep from losing transparency on processed images?
]]>I have installed Meta Slider in a Studiopress theme called Enterprise Pro (based on Genesis framework) – on the home page. I am using the Nivo slider option and it all works fine apart from a transparency issue – that is noticeable to my client.
I am using PNG images in the slider with no captions. Each image has text on a faded black background – with a transparency set to about 60% in photoshop – so you can see through the images a bit to the background image on the site.
The slider animation is set to SLide In Left – and the first slide seems to render as intended, but subsequent images that slide in seem to have a darker background than the original image – almost as if there is another faded black background behind the image, so the transparent effect we are trying to achieve is lost. If you resize the browser or adjust the window at all, suddenly the current image appears to revert back to its original transparency and displays as intended.
Can you help with this? Is it something in the javascript for Nivo slider I can customise ? I am hugely technical – but would be good to use the slider for my client – as it seems to be one of the only ones that works well in the Studiopress theme!
Thanks in advance,
Tully

]]>This is my first shot at using WordPress and I’m having a little trouble formatting stuff in the carousal area of the Boot Store theme. It seems that the only way to get to the carousal is via the product (perhaps this can be done via a page as well). Anyway, using a product if I add an image any text I add lands right on top of the text and I seemingly have no control over the position of the image or the text.
I suppose I could simply use an image of the text and image but then you seem to lose the transparency of the area–is there a way to get these carousal areas to recognize gif transparency (or png which I haven’t tried yet)? And/or does anyone know where I can get more information or even a tutorial?
This is not for a ‘online store’ but rather for my author page but I got a lot of ideas from this theme with its little carousal areas.
Thank for any help!

I’m using the current version of WordPress with ComicPress. I’ve tried converting my images to 24-bit PNG files and then replacing the old images with the new (suggested by DougJoseph), but it didn’t work.
Is there a plugin or workaround that will give me cleaner looking thumbnail images? It’s fine if the archive thumbnails don’t have transparency – if I can at least make the background white so the footer text is legible, that would be fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

have tried to replace the image of the woman and add an my own png image, as well as add another png image to the header.
Here is my site at the moment: https://www.sandeecrack.com
I have searched high and low for help with the CSS code, but I am lost as to where the problem is. I am using firefox and it looks the same on IE??
