This is one of those plugins that just plain work without a whole bunch tweaking or being forced into an upgrade. If I had a paying site, I would invest in the plugin upgrade.

Hi,

First, thank you for the work, it’s a very handy plugin.

I have 2 problems about the way the plugin is upgraded. It’s not a bug, but rather the way it’s done):

– the plugin is upgraded very often (I would say around 3 times per month ?), it’s good to see that’s it’s alive and that things are done, but as a webmaster, it adds work and complexity, because as soon as we have an out of date plugin, wordpress changes the health of our site to critical. And, also it means for the webmaster to do some work, after an upgrade we must test and verify that there is no regression because of course the booking functionnality is critical. Wouldn’t be better to have less releases ?

– also the problem related to it is that when we go to the modification list (https://www.horizondouceur.com/wp-admin/plugin-install.php?tab=plugin-information&plugin=appointment-hour-booking§ion=changelog) to try to understand what has been change and to know if it’s safe to upgrade, there is nothing about it. The last information is about the version 1.0.02.

What do you think ? Is it possible to do something about these things ?

Ecommerce catalog preventing upgrades following change to php 7.1

I just upgraded my website from php 7.0 to php 7.1. After upgrade, I was unable to update plugins and themes. After a lot of testing, I discovered that the eCommerce Product Catalog Plugin appears to be the culprit. When I disable it, I can upgrade themes and plugins. When I disable it, I can’t.

Site is www.raptorresource.org. The front end works just fine, the catalog works just fine (https://www.raptorresource.org/learning-tools/field-guide/) and I can access the admin tools – i just can’t upgrade when the eCommerce Product Catalog Plugin is enabled. Any suggestions?

Destination folder already exists (plugins and themes)

Hello,

I have an issue with one website. Almost every plugin and every theme fail to update.
I got the same message “Destination folder already exists” and “installation failed”

I read hundreds of topics and I’m not happy with the scenario that every time I have to think “will it be successful or fail”.
This is not one off situation.
Server admin checked user and group setup to the webserver folders. Checked attributes. These are set to 755 and files to 644 as what I can see.
We tried to setup directories to 775, but this did not help.

So, my question is not only how to fix it but what is causing this ?
I cannot login via ftp all the time and manually delete the folders and the files.

Plugin download problem after SVN update

Hi. Today I released the new version of my plugins to the WordPress directory , and when trying to update plugins in my WorDpress installation, I see the error message “Download failed. Not Found”.Also I get the ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE when I trying to download the plugin from www.remarpro.com.
The same issue with two plugins:

Simple & time saver

The plugin is simple and save a lot of time when upgrading a theme or a plugin.
As mentioned earlier by a user, the setting of a destination backups folder it is a must, since this folder can be added to exclusion list on our favorite backup scripts.
For the moment for personal user, I did modify the code, line 133 in custom-plugin-upgrader.php for $zip_path. If not possible to add some settings for the plugin, maybe put if function exists in the private function caj_create_backup in future upgrades so one can use functions.php to override this function and set his own path.

Ads not displaying after Plugin Update

Hello – I updated the plugin today and my ads are no longer showing.

My adsense code is: [do_widget id=dk-image-rotator-widget-2]

This displays banner ads that rotate, and they were appearing the middle of posts like this one: https://www.imnotatwork.com/event/the-frisco-funk-collective-december-22nd-2016-the-historic-brown-breckenridge-colorado/

Any idea how to fix this?!?

update-core.php database goes away

I have noticed that sometimes when I update plugins using update-core.php, the plugins get updated correctly, but php errors are displayed at the end, similar to:

MySQL server has gone away in /blahblah/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1868, referer: https://www.3cs.ch/wp-admin/update-core.php?action=do-plugin-upgrade

These errors are displayed in a sporadic, but not infrequent, way. They are clearly not related to specific plugins.

However, if I update plugins using plugins.php (that is, clicking on “update now” for the relevant plugin), I never see those database errors.

I conclude that there is probably some code either in or being called by wp-db.php or update-core.php that does not get called by plugins.php that is either buggy or not well optimized.

I don’t think this is uniquely an issue with the tuning of parameters on my platform. Changing packet size, allocating more memory and extending timeouts have no effect on the problem.

Has anyone else observed this?

This little gem does exactly what it’s supposed to do and nothing more. Never causes any problems, always there just in case. Great helper and very handy.
