]]>when i publish post, i use to update pingomatic then further pingomatic pings various services like weblogs, feedburner, google blog search etc.
My problem is that Recently i have noticed in weblogs changed log file after downloading it that my domain name appears 2 times for the same post after publishing within interval of 2-10 second, one with trailing slash and one without trailing slash and that basically leads my domain to excess ping penalty.
I have checked with my other website and everything seems to be working fine on them, except one which is my main website.
I have also tried to ping directly weblogs (https://rpc.weblogs.com/RPC2) from withing wordpress installation. But found the same problem.
So far i have tried following :
1. Reinstalled wordpress
2. cleaned up options table completely and disabled all plugin to check the issue.
3. Same DB tested with the other domain and this seems to working fine.
So if any one guide me to troubleshoot the problem it will be helpful for me.
thanks.
]]>Is this normal? Is my script working?
I am confused because weblogs.com shoots back a friendly “thanks for the ping!” bit of XML after a successful ping.
I can’t seem to find any documentation on pingomatic API anywhere.
Matt Mullenwegg writes that he created one, but there are no links on this page: https://blog.pingomatic.com/2006/01/16/internal-api-complete/
I suppose it would make sense however as simple visiting https://rpc.pingomatic.com in your browser shows an ugly error, where https://rpc.weblogs.com/RPC2 shows pretty and perfect xml syntax as a response.

]]>Note: this question is not about WordPress, but I didn’t found a better place to ask it, sorry.
My company recently started to use Ping-o-Matic service to notify external services about our users activity. We send GET requests directly to https://pingomatic.com. Quite often we get a throttle response, even with simple limits in place. What is your throttle limit? May it be increased? Is there a better way to use this service?
Thanks in advance.
]]>my reason for asking is because i have activated the cbnet Ping Optimizer plugin to limit pinging so not to be accused of spamming, i have added a list of ping services including pingmatic but obviously dont want to create problems for myself.
thanks in advance to anyone who can help
]]>In one new blog in the settings >> general screen, I have set a blog address url different from the wordpress address url.
What url(s) does pingomatic (and others) pass to the search engines? Is it the main blog address url? Is it individual post urls?
Is there a way to control this?
Thanks
Mike
Anyone know how to configure by blog to ping pingomatic, etc when my email posts are completed?
]]>I know that WordPress defaults my update services settings to rpc.pingomatic.com
. However, I notice that Pingomatic has a sign-up/set-up form on their homepage. Do I need to fill out this form for Pingomatic to work with my blog, or will it automatically do so with the update services setting?
Thanks
