We are asked to build e-commerce sites by our customers, but they can afford a solution like Magento. For low traffic sites and no more than 100 products seems logical.

Which is THE BEST e-commerce plugin for WordPress 3 currently now?

List Inventory Plugin to Use With PHPurchase

I am looking at using PHPurchase to sell inventory on my web site. I am wondering if anyone can recommend a couple plugins that work really well to list inventory? I know PHPurchase only allows you to handle the transaction and doesn’t allow you to actually list the inventory. Any suggestions on something to use? Thanks for any help!

E-Commerce WordPress Performance Concerns

I’m in the planning stage of an e-commerce (and more) website and I’m considering using WordPress along with WP.osC, ShopperPress, or PHPurchase. My concern is that the site may eventually become so large that page load and overall site response times might become an issue. Initially, in addition to Home, About, Contact, and Blog pages, the site will have multiple Product pages displaying 100-150 different products in different categories for sale, but the site could grow to 1,000 products over time. The site will also have some Flash animation, along with membership and affiliate plug-ins. Has anyone built a site of this size before using WordPress, and if so, how have response times been? What other kinds of problems might I encounter using WordPress for a site like this?

I’ve got a client that is currently using eBay Prostores, which is a terrible ecommerce solution in my opinion.

He is ready to move to another CMS, and I’ve been thinking about WP and the WP e-commerce plug in (gold cart), but am also curious about PHPurchase.

Why is it not available on www.remarpro.com for download? Has wordpress not “approved it”?

Are there better alternatives? This client site has about 400 SKUs.

I’m fairly new to WordPress and am using templates from Studiopress (previously Revolution). I’ve set up a new site for the Arran Folk Festival (https://wordpress.arranfolkfestival.com/). One of the requirements is the setting up of a shopping cart for the sale of e-tickets for concerts and merchandise. Is there a recommended plug-in that would be reliable and secure? We’re happy to pay for such a service, as long as it’s reliable and can do what we need it to do.

best ecommerce solution? looking for import & product search features

I’ve spent pretty much my whole day so far looking for a good ecommerce solution, hopefully one that works with WordPress. I have about 300 products in a spreadsheet that I’d like to be able to import, and the products need to be searchable. This is what I’ve found out so far…

WP Ecommerce – no ability to import or search products

WP.osC – I could not successfully set up the database. Instructions are vague.

OS Commerce (without WordPress) – No product import ability. Navigation required to add products is painful.

osCommerce plugin by Tal Orlik – Says it pulls product listings into WordPress from an installation of OS Commerce. I could not activate it. It caused a fatal error when I tried.

WP-osCommerce plugin by Roya Khosravi – Supposed to work with WP.osC but since I couldn’t get the latter to work, the former didn’t work either.

FatFreeCart plugin by www.e-junkie.com – Allows you to add shopping cart buttons to posts. This makes the products searchable, but there is no product template. The only information that shows in the post is what you manually enter.

Does anyone have suggestions for a better solution? I have used Miva Merchant in the past and love the fact that you can export & import product, category, and order data and products are searchable, but the downside is that it requires Miva’s proprietary database engine and the hosting company that the client’s sites are on does not provide that. Miva hosting is sort of pricey.
