I’ve looked everywhere but all i can find for portfolio/photography themes is always the same layout with the same portfolio pages. I would like a modern variant on this one, full screen with projects that are listed on the front page and when you hover over the you get a nice full screen photo
Anyone?
Thanks!
]]>So I was messing around with some of the discussion options and everything was fine, until I attempted to change the url from wp to blog (at least I think it started here). From there everything has gone haywire.
I can still get to a “login” screen and I say that because it’s one of those “the coding is messed up” looking screens. I have since gone into cPanel and uploaded new .php files for all the discussion files but its still not updating or changing. I’m hoping I haven’t gone to far at this point.
Here is a link to my blog site, as you can see it’s clearly not working well. Typing in wp/wp-login.php tells me it can’t find my site, and if I try blog or anything else I can’t get to the dashboard. I’m at a total loss and am freaking out that I fully blew it here. Someone please help, and if you need any clarification please let me know.
Thanks

]]>I have the latest widgets installed (I have just reinstalled them) and activated.
When I click on the PS icon on the new post page it asks me to login which I do.
A window comes up saying I haven’t entered my Photoshelter details yet (which I have a number of times).
I follow the link on this page and see that my login details are already there. I re-enter them to be sure and hit the authorise button. The page goes through the motion of logging in but the Authorise button is still active when the page re-freshes.
I try this a number of times but the button remains active.
I am using the same login that I use for my PS account
Any ideas please?
]]>I looked through past threads but did not find an answer to a specific question I have. Before I ask it I will explain my set up.
– I am a photographer using PhotoShelter for my website. PhotoShelter provides integration with WordPress using Graph Paper Press themes.
– I have a Graph Paper Press theme “Widescreen”.
– I use Go Daddy to host my WordPress blog. My URL is https://englebright.biz
– My PhotoShelter site is linked/configured to the “Widescreen” theme.
This way, the look of my blog is integrated into the look of my website.
When someone types https://englebright.biz they get the slideshow that I have created and a menu for navigating to my portfolios and archives and 2 links to pages I created.
But I don’t know how to create a link to my blog posts since I have set up my URL as what is essentially the first page of my website. I feel like it is a simple answer but at this point – for the novice that I am – I cannot see the forest for the trees.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Robert
]]>So far I know I will have some integration with Photoshelter, and most likely I will install the NextGen Gallery. After that I am pretty wide open. So if you as a WordPress Pro where going to build a Photography website from scratch what would you do? What options would you choose?
Thanks for the help!
]]>I have a working subdomain multisite install for my photoblog. I only use one subdomain (blog.mydomain.com) in addition to mydomain.com
As I want to combine my PhotoShelter archive, I want to have archive.mydomains.com point to my PhotoShelter archive.
Photoshelter gives an option to do this by adding a CNAME, here are their instructions:
In these cases, it’s common to create a CNAME record in yourdomain.com for the purpose of masking the PhotoShelter URLs. In order to accomplish this, the process is slightly different:
Log into the account you have with your domain registrar (or wherever your DNS is managed).
Locate the section for creating your CNAME. The option you should look for will generally be called a “DNS Alias,” a “Host Alias,” or a “DNS CNAME”.
Create a new entry of your choice. If your domain is YourDomain.com, your CNAME could be archive.YourDomain.com, galleries.YourDomain.com, imagesYourDomain.com. or ANYTHING.YourDomain.com — the specific alias you use is up to you.
Your new DNS alias/CNAME should be set to point to custom.photoshelter.com. This associates your new entry with PhotoShelter’s servers.
You should allow several hours for your DNS changes to propagate through the internet
Enter that new CNAME in your Custom Website Domain field on your Website Settings page.
I did do all the above, adding a CNAME on my host, pointing to “custom.photoshelter.com.” as indicated.
But still the subdomain gets ‘caught’ by WP multsite, redirecting to mydomain.com/wp-signup.php?new=archive instead, so it does not leave my install.
What am I missing? Is it possible at all to have a dedicated CNAME subdomain in addition to the wildcard subdomains?
Many thanks
]]>I’m using my own domain i had from Network Solutions. fabianxramirez.com
And Photoshelter.com to build my site theres a way to have a graphpaperpress theme in it and incorporate a wordpress blog so i wanted a wordpress blog. Trying to get one i followed the instructions and got a Media Temple subscription. I paid, but i have no idea how to make my wordpress blog going. I got a link after the installation but it just directs me to photoshelter.com I’ll appreciate help to get fabianxramirez.com working and with a blog section too. Just like ishootshows.com
What I would like to end up with is another page (landing page, for lack of a better term) that people would initially see when visiting “mydomain.com”. Then be able to link to my blog, at it’s current location in /blog directory, as well as a Music page (with possible sub-pages) in a /Music directory, and finally, my PhotoShelter site incorporated into things at /Photo directory.
So do I need to move my WP install to the root of my domain to accomplish this? If so, can I still have the blog at mydomain.com/blog like I do now? With my current setup, I can’t create anything on my WP setup higher than the /blog level.
Does this make any sense? Thanks in advance for any advice on this.
