Currently, I am setting up my permalinks structure like this: /%postname%-%post_id%/
For example, I have an article: https://mydomain.com/hello-world-123/
When I visit the url https://mydomain.com/hello-world-1/, it is redirected to the correct url https://mydomain.com/hello-world-123/. But when I visit the url https://mydomain.com/hello-world/, it display error 404.
Can somebody help me solve this problem, I want when I visit https://mydomain.com/hello-world/, it will be redirected to the correct url https://mydomain.com/hello-world-123/.
Thank you!
]]>I’m having a problem with post permalink structure. I have two languages on my site – English and Czech. There is a section on the site where all the posts are published. I call it Blog (cyberfootprint.eu/en/blog) in English and Clanky in Czech (cyberfootprint.eu/cs/clanky).
The current permalink structure is /blog/%postname%/, so whenever I publish a post in English, it goes to cyberfootprint.eu/en/blog/new-post/. That’s fine. The only question is how do I do the same for Czech. Whenever I publish a post in Czech, it goes to cyberfootprint.eu/cs/blog/new-post/, whereas I would like it to go to cyberfootprint.eu/cs/clanky/new-post/.
What do I do? Is it something I have to set in permalinks control or will Polylang settings help?
Thank you,
Honza

]]>I’ve been trying to figure this one out for 2 days now, and can’t seem to resolve this problem by myself.
Here’s the issue:
Under settings / permalinks, I have the permalink structure set to postname, which is how I want it. Now, when I write a new post, it’s using the default structure for opengraph and also for the all in one seo preview snippet.
Any thoughts on what can be causing this?
Thank you!

]]>I am in the process of building a site and the permalink structure only works as default. Pages will not show up unless the permalink’s structure is default. I’ve never had an issue with permalinks in the past. I imagine it has something to do with this theme. Can anybody help??
Thanks so much in advance!

I was hoping if someone could help me with my quest here, I have my premalink structure /%category%/%postname%/
, now I need it to be /%category%/%postname%.html
so my Social reader app could publish actions to FB users profiles, but my problem is that I have then 1900 broken links that users previously bookmarked, so my question is: Is there any way to make once I turn them to /%category%/%postname%.html
and people try to access /%category%/%postname%/
the link gets redirected to /%category%/%postname%.html
whether it be a function that changes last slash into .html (because that is the only change in the structure) or anything?
So is there any way to accomplish that?

Best Regards,
Star-Network.
I some to bother you, but I have a problem and i can′t seem to find the answer anywhere.
After reading a SEO blog i thought i would like to change my permalinks structure to Custom /%postname%/ then i “saved” i the read on the admin site that the htaccess file is not writable so I go and change these settings. after that i cant see anything on the frontpage except from Forbidden 403.
So i tried going back to the last used permalinks structure and saving and the same error message appears!
Can anybody help me solve this problem?

Extreme newbie alert!
Before I install WordPress I’d like to find the best structure for my permalinks.
Firstly, does the structure effect anything apart from the permalink address/ url?
I’d like to keep things as simple and clean as possible, so if I order by date I presume I can structure as
domain.com/2008/post-name/
rather than add month and day as well?
But if my blog is at
domain.com/blog
would this mean the permalink would have to be at
domain.com/blog/2008/post-name/
The trouble is I may away at times and/ or not post for a while, so are there any alternatives to structuring by date?
I’ve seen some sites that have the clean structure
domain.com/post-name/
what is the disadvantage with this?
Does it mean every post over the next 10 years will have to have a unique name? Or other problems?
Many thanks for taking the time to help
Rob
