After searching for a few days for a plug-in that worked I’ve tried this one out (didn’t try it first as there is an alert that it hasn’t been tested on the past 3 versions of WordPress).
It works!!
We have a nice “Download this page as a PDF” + icon at the top of our terms and conditions and privacy policy pages.
Just what we were looking for.
Simple logo header and a footer that works, with page numbers.
Can do more CSS formatting, and it also can take the formatting from your own theme.
There is another product (or add-on) which I was a bit confused about, this looks like a great way to produce content from your own website, amalgamating posts together to create an e-book.
**DK PDF Generator**
<Auto-generates PFD with page content for download>
]]>My company wants me to create a password protected page on our wordpress site that houses only weekly pdfs of product updates. We need to keep at 4-6 months of archives on the page for our vendors/customers. Any thoughts or suggestions on the best way to set this up and do it? The product manager will be adding the pdfs weekly so it needs to be fairly simple. My thought was:
Create posts and title them with the week of the pdf then upload pdf into post(however the client still needs to be able to download the pdf)
Anyone ever worked on something similar or have thoughts on best practices for this. Your time and input is greatly appreciated!

]]>I have a question. I have a magazine site with PDFs to be downloaded. But I want to restrict GUEST users on the site to only view first 5 pages of any PDF document uploaded to the site and also not to allow them to download but direct them to a REGISTER page. Also the registered MEMBERS can view the full PDF and download the file. Any idea how I can achieve this?
Thanks
J
I want to make a PDF available from one of my blog pages, but no matter how I fiddle with the tag, I get:
Warning: include(/home/glabagro/public_html/ridesanddives.com/wp-content/themes/sporting_motorcycle/nex_gen.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/glabagro/public_html/ridesanddives.com/wp-content/themes/sporting_motorcycle/404.php on line 13
Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening ‘/home/glabagro/public_html/ridesanddives.com/wp-content/themes/sporting_motorcycle/nex_gen.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/glabagro/public_html/ridesanddives.com/wp-content/themes/sporting_motorcycle/404.php on line 13
This blog sits on my Host Gator account with several other websites (some functioning, most not) so the directory tree is a little cumbersome. However, where should I store PDFs that I want folks to be able to download? Is there something special I have to do to make WordPress honor the download?
The website is www.ridesanddives.com.
Thanks,
Greg
