Redirect to WP 404 page not Server?

We have installed the plugin, and this has successfully solved the core problem of file access. However, there are users that should have legitimate access (by logging in etc). The wording of the default Apache error message is not helpful.

The error message shown (Chrome), is:

Not Found

The requested URL was not found on this server.

(There’s no “404” mentioned)

Anyway, we added the following to our .htaccess

ErrorDocument 404 /error-restricted-content/

This has not made any difference.

We have also tried setting the same page within
PDA > Settings > Customize “No Access” Page

This does not seem to do anything either.

What are we doing wrong? Thanks!

Hi – some of the other support tickets have similar questions but not quite this exact scenario. The web site in question is on a private network, there is no membership.
It uses woocommerce to manage the products (in this case videos) and works as a library of videos. No payment facility on the site, everything is available to everyone who visits.

I want to prevent direct access to the .MP4 files in uploads folder, whilst allowing all visitors to the site to be able to view the video, just not access the URL directly.

Does the latest version of PDA achieve this?

CDN integration with the PDA

Hi. I have a question. If I use a CDN (Content Delivery Network) on my website, is there anything I should know when using your plugin? I did some research in your forums and knowledge base but could not find any related topic. I was wondering if I should exclude the path from CDN where my protected media files are located.

PDA Editor

I would like an editor that I could use from my Palm PDA. In other words, I could easily make an entry to my blog from my Palm using such an editor. The screen would be formated to the smaller size of a PDA, and perhaps the choices available would be less than the regular editor, but it would be something to make entries.

It could also work with blackberries and iphones.
