Fatal PHP Error when activating Paypal Payments Plugin

My WooCommerce store started giving me 502 and 524 errors hours after updating the API credentials in the Paypal Payments plugin settings. I am running the current version of Woo and all other plugins – I am running Paypal Payments plugin v2.9.6 (latest).

I disabled all plugins and then my site came back up. After activating all plugins and then I got to the Paypal Payments one.. my site crashed again and then I removed it and the site came back up – the below entries were in my error log:

Issue with Apple Pay: sheet disappearing

I have activated the PayPal payment method since a year or so and additionally Apple Pay and Google Pay, which I activated a few months ago. Google Pay works correctly but with Apple Pay I am experiencing an error that I have seen on more than one occasion in these forums but none of the solutions provided work for me: when a user tries to pay with Apple Pay the pop-up window to choose the card appears and disappears in less than a second. It seems to be related to the validation of the domain, which also indicates that it has not been completed even though the file is correctly uploaded and ‘domain’ points to it. We have also pressed the Apple Pay button from an iPhone but since this problem occurs it does not seem to be registering the action, because it keeps telling me that the button has not been activated.

I have checked with the server that the requirements for Apple Pay are met and they confirmed it to me. Please let me know if you need any additional information from me to be able to check the problem, as I don’t know what the source of the problem is and why it is not allowing the domain to be validated. It is relevant because a customer has reported it to us and he was unable to pay with this methodology, so the button appears but does not work.

Failed and pending orders

We sell concert tickets using the plugin Tickera and their Bridge for WooCommerce. We use PayPal Standard and Advanced Card Processing. There are 2 problems:

Out of about 250 orders for tickets for the current concert, 16 are marked Pending. I have no idea why, and the payments do not show up on our PP merchant account. We have issued tickets, so buyers have the goods but have not paid. I don’t know how to recover the payments.
Every day there are a few orders marked Failed. Tickets are not being issued. Sometimes the buyers try again and it goes through. The only error message is “something went wrong”.

I have asked PayPal support for help, but they say this is a WooCommerce issue. Here is part of what they have said:

“There are a couple of transactions that have been declined by risk. PayPal has an internal security system and along with card issuers/banks will block payments from time to time due to many different risk factors. Due to security purposes, we are unable to disclose the risk factors. As a result, from time to time there will be blocked payments.

“To resolve the issue of the pending orders, please contact the customer support of the third party eCommerce to make sure they pass valid API requests to the PayPal system and customers to pass valid funding instruments during checkout.

“Merchants should first perform Create OrderAPI(https://developer.paypal.com/docs/api/orders/v2/#orders_create) call and then redirect the customer/buyer to “approve” URL returned from the Create Order API response as below:

I should add that when I try to post a question on WooCommerce support, it says our site is not connected to WC. When I try to reconnect, it is already connected. So I can’t post the question.

Double Paypal buttons on product pages

I am not able to find where I can change this setting that displays the product info and Paypal button right below the “Add to Cart” button. I have two of them. The bottom one which I cannot remove does nothing and I would like to format that area a bit better but do not know how to change out.

WooCommerce PayPal Payments Versions 2.8.2 caused a critical error on my WooCommerce website. Here is the error log that I received. I’ve since deactivated and deleted and my site works just fine now. If anyone has any alternatives to allow PayPal payments please shoot out recommendations.

Hello,

We have Woocommerce PayPal Payments with PayPal Vaulting enabled and WooCommerce Subscriptions. We are successfully receiving payments from customers, but the renewal payments for subscriptions is not working through the API. We receive this message: PERMISSION_DENIED Authorization failed due to insufficient permissions.

We have contacted PayPal Support and this was there response:

“We advised with our product team on the issue you provided. Upon reviewing the log, we can see the token type is LSAT (low scope access token) used in the examples you provided, which means your application only used client_id WITHOUT secret to generate the bearer token. You’re required to use full scope access token, with both client id and secret in the access token. We kindly request you try again by using both client id and the secret to fix this permission error.”

We need to process customer renewal payments, but are stuck because of the permission denied error. Can you please help resolve it?

Hi, it seems that woocommerce paypal payments is causing a fatal error on my wordpress site when updating to a version higher than 2.5.1.
