I am unable to post any new pages or posts. Once text is pasted into a new page/post page, it hangs (gets stuck) while ‘saving to draft’. The ‘publish’, ‘save draft’ and ‘preview’ buttons go pale and become inoperative. See my experiments below, but seems it is something to do with pasting in the text from a Word Doc.
I did manage to press the ‘preview’ button immediately after pasting in the text, and before it automatically attempted to save draft, but I got an error message “406 Not Acceptable.” Same happened when I clicked the ‘Save Draft’ button.
Note: this problem started 3-4 months ago, I haven’t had the time to investigate it until now.
Note: my blog entries are quite long: 2,000 to 5000 words.
Note: website seems to work in all other respects
Note: I have a second different blog and this second blog works just fine in all respects.
I have read the ‘READ THIS FIRST – WordPress 4.5 Master List’ and taken the following actions:
It is not a browser problem as I get the same on different browsers.
I have updated all the plugins.
I have updated all the Themes.
I have de-activated all pluggings but the problem remained.
I have deleted old unused plugins.
I have tried a new theme ‘Twenty Sixteen’ but I have the same problem.
I have NOT manually updated wordpress. This problem has been ongoing for some months and wordpress has been automatically updated in that time.
I have deleted my cashe numerous times.
Oh….I just tried something different. Instead of pasting in the text from my WORD doc, I typed directly into WordPress. This time it worked as per usual, draft was saved and page was published! Cool! This is a breakthrough! What does it mean? I need to be able to paste things in as all my work is all based in WORD docs. Does that mean it’s the formating of WORD that is causing the problem?
I tried deleting the html hyperlinks from the word doc: no difference.
I tried removing all formatting from word: no difference.
I typed directly into WordPress a lot of random text, 2700 characters: and it still published and still saved.
So something is going wrong with pasting in text from Word doc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Danny

The workaround I use is to paste the text into Microsoft Word first and then copy/paste it into WordPress.
Other people in my office are resistant to using this workaround. So I’m wondering why the formatting doesn’t stay in the first place? On a few of the computers in my office, it does stay, but I don’t know what the difference is.
Is this a browser thing? I use Chrome. Is there a way to ensure the formatting is maintained without having to involve Microsoft Word?
I know this is not a WordPress problem per se, but I’m hoping someone who has experienced this can weigh in. Thanks!
]]>I pasted the following code:
CURRENT AUCTION ENDS IN: [fergcorp_cdt]
In to a “Call For Action Text” Section of my WP Website but only plain text appears.
When I use it in a post, it works perfectly fine.
Could you please help me figure this out?

]]>I am making an online store with woocommerce. I decided to make different pages for different regions so i can take different currencies for example Us.exampe.com and Uk.example.com
So i already got one address working, was wondering how i can copy all of it’s settings to another address. I installed wordpress on the other one and then i copied all the files from my working one to the new one but now as i try to login to the new one, it automatically takes me to the back end of my already working one.
Please help because i am so new to this.
Thank you all!

]]>I deactivated all plugins and tried one by one (even with them all deactivate it still did this). Cache was cleared on all computers the editors used. Still the problem exists. They are on IE 11.
I could not recreate this from my office using IE 9, even with the text in Calibri in the Word Document.

]]>I format a price list using the Table function in MS Word
When pasting over from MS word the Tiny MCE interface used to have a dedicated ‘Paste from Word’ button into which you could paste tables. This permitted me to minimise any reformatting, so that spacing and columns carried over into WP. With the new functionality of Tiny MCE the Paste From Word button has been deleted, and you now toggle the ‘Text’ button and paste directly onto the page.
However, this only pastes the text that was contained in the tables, not the tables themselves, so all formatting and spacing is lost.
This page shows how I wish the formatting to look, the area concerned is that between the two horizontal red lines. Perhaps there is another way – I may even have to revert to the earlier version.
