Cannot get into Admin – password emailer not working.

I cannot log in to my Admin. I am logged into the support site (I can see and edit my profile), but cannot get into the Admin area. I have tried several times to retrieve or reset my password through the emailer. I get an “invalid key” response when attempting to reset. Now I am not getting an email notification at all. Can you please help?

Can't Access Admin On New Computer

Hi, my laptop is broken and I am using a new computer which does not have my passwords saved. I tried to log in to my site (https://rubsomedirtblog.com/wp-admin) and said “forgot password.” It said my email address was not found, but I still know my username. Clicked “lost my password” and it supposedly sent me an email, which I have not received (not surprising since it didn’t recognize it). I only have 2 email addresses; it’s not in either inbox, junk or spam box, etc. Now that the password has been reset and supposedly sent to my email (which it hasn’t), how can I log in?

Hi, I’m using the free Custom Login default page, even though I later purchased the Pro version. Love the original, but I have a problem!

My client is a thousand member organization, and most are logging in fine. So my problem is the lost password function. Your lost password JS form seems to work, but I don’t know how to configure a landing page or to configure the email function that sends the user the reset or existing password.

I’ve scoured WP for days. WP-Members didn’t suit me, so I ended up with another rather simple User management plugin.

Do I need customized code, or is there something I am overlooking?

Issue with password reset urls in Entourage

I’m having issues with password resets in the email client entourage. it seems the client is stripping the &key and &login from the url, resulting in

https://www.mydomain.com/login?action=rp=9794abQM4XncUDiu4XcM=davidj

instead of

https://www.mydomain.com/login?action=rp&key=9794abQM4XncUDiu4XcM&login=davidj

this is obviously causing issues with specifying a new password for users… is this a known issue, and if so, is there a fix?

Receiving WordPress Emails

I’m developing a site locally using MAMP Pro. For some reason, when I try to register new users on the site for testing, the confirmation email never arrives. Automated emails just aren’t working. I know it has something to do with the fact that I’m developing the site locally but I don’t know how to fix the problem.

It’s driving me absolutely nuts!

Any ideas?

Hi,

I’ve been looking elsewhere but cannot find a solution for this specific situation in which the email after a ‘lost password’ action is not sent and I get the following error: “The e-mail could not be sent.
Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function…”. The thing is that I also have a form (using cForms) which does send out email correctly. I’m a little at a loss here. Oh; not unimportant: I’m currently using a setup with XAMPP on my windows machine.

Any input is appreciated. Tnx.

Unable to retrieve password – No Previous answers

I just uploaded WP to my GoDaddy Windows hosting account.

After several hours of 5-minute installing, and then troubleshooting, I was able to get set up!

I didn’t write down the crazy password, since I figured I was going to change it to something better anyway. Dashed off a quick first blog, no problem.

So then I had to close IE due to some glitch or the other.

When I got back to WP, I needed to log in again. Of course, I don’t know my crazy password.

So I click “Forgot password” and enter my email…. and I get this error:

So now what? I can’t send myself my password, and I can’t log on to see why mail is disabled…

Am I dead in the water and need to reinstall?

Password retrieval problem

Whenever I go to my password retrieval form and enter my email address or user name the email arrives in my email account as it should but the link it contains does not seem to get recognised. Whenever I click on it I get a message that the key is wrong? How can this be?

I’m working on a WordPress site for my employer. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to the cpanel or phpmyadmin and I’ve lost the password to regain access to the page to continue work on it.

Is there another way to retrieve a lost password?

The mail() function has been disabled on the site by the computer people my employer goes through. The register function has also been disabled.
