Lost password, not receiving reset mail

My website was hosted on an AWS EC2 instance, but I had not set up the SMTP or email sending servers. I lost my dashboard login credentials and am unable to login. Now when I ask for resetting my password and inputting my email, I am not receiving any email because the SMTP is not set up. How can I get the website data back?

I have generated an automated password which contained what could be I or l which both look the same. As a result I have entered obviously the wrong combination of capital I or small l and it won’t email me the link. I also cannot try too often as otherwise it will delete my IP address. What can I do to get access to my blog site? I have read some instructions from 2 years ago but nothing recent and I have been unable to work out how to do any of the other options. I really would appreciate someone’s help. Thanks a lot!

To whom it may concern,

After a user wishes to reset their password at the login screen, it can take around 10 minutues before they receive the email. Why does it take so long? Is there a way to speed it up?

No default password for reset

I have a little problem with the new user registration process and the “Reset password” site. Because there’s a strong password already proposed to new users or users that want to reset their password, many users are confused and don’t set their own password.

Is their a way not to set a default password in the “new password” field and show just an empty field?

"Lost your password" function does not work

Please help! I’ve forgotten the password to my site www.nbfa.no.

When I press the “Lost your password link?” I’m only redirected to the front page of my site, instead of getting the opportunity to write my email address and have a new password sent there.

Is this a known problem? I can’t find anything about it. How do I get a new password sent to me, or a link to a password reset?

Is there any other way I can reset my password? I don’t have wordpress installed on my computer, or any files for the website on my computer, so as far as I undrstand a lot of the things in the guide on how to reset passwords, won’t work for me.

I have a somewhat strange situation. My domain name recently expired with my host site and for some reason the automatic renewal didn’t work, so I was forced to clone the site over to a new domain (jsbookbinding.com to js-bookbinding.com). Afterwards, I attempted to login to my wp-admin account using my old username and password, but got a message saying the password was incorrect. Unfortunately, the account is under an email address associated with the old url, which I no longer have access to so I can’t receive the change password email. Is there any way I can regain access to my admin panel?

Hello there!
I don’t know if im posting at the correct section.Please forgive me.

Here is the question :
Many months ago, there was a guy in the company i am working now and he created a website with wordpress (version 3.4.2) while the latest stable version right now is 4.0.1.

That means that it is required to update the version. But in order to update the wordpress version, im trying to log in through browser www.motive-consulting.gr/wp-admin.

Here is the problem that i have to deal with:
Even if im trying to log in with username and password i can’t because there is a message “Invalid username”. After this i press on “Lost your password” and i put an email but unfortunately that email does not exist anymore. The guy who created the website,has left the company about a year ago and now i have to update the version. Everyone here at the company has a new email (something like [email protected]) and since he left, that email has been deleted. The companys website was created on that email. And now it doesn’t exist anymore.

So here is what kind of help im trying to ask from you guys.
Can you allow me to put an other email as main email and change the password so i could work finaly on that bloody update?

inexplicably my wordpress admin password resets each time a session ends.
just like that. I have to reset my password each time I want to login again.

i have several wordpress years, never happen to me before.

I have another account on www.remarpro.com that I hasn’t been logged into for a few years. We used to publish themes and I would like to revamp the themes that haven’t yet been removed from the directory. Here’s what I see when I try to reset our password:

My issue is that the email we used to use is no longer active, so the password reset doesn’t work! I’ve reached out to that email address, but no one has gotten back to me in over a month. Help?
