Origin Theme is distorting my logo, and I'm not sure why.

I discovered that the logo at the top of all my site pages have elongated for reasons that are not obvious to me. I’ve attempted to upload new versions of the logo to see if it was a matter of the image itself, but everything I upload is met with the same distortion.

I’ve been using Origin Theme since I began my blog nearly three years ago, and have never experienced an issue such as this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Using excerpt with Origin theme

I’m using the Origin theme by Elegant Themes and the text that is being excerpted on the homepage is too long. I’ve entered shorter ones on the post edit pages, but they aren’t being pulled up to the homepage.

I’ve read about the_content() vs the_exceprt() but I’m new to editing wordpress templates and I’m not sure what to fix or where to look. I imagine the theme code has something to do with it. (My Elegant Themes subscription just ran out or I’d ask on that forum.)

Oh, one other question about the homepage, in case I have the attention of someone that knows. Is there a way to control the order of items on the homepage? It currently bumps the latest posts to the top. I’m in the process of putting some older portfolio items on my site and I don’t necessarily want them at the top when other work is more current.

I would like to remove date, author and category from all my posts in the Origin theme. Can anyone tell me how to do this in a simple step by step instructions way?

I have tried pasting the code “byline {display: none;}” into the CSS stylesheet editor but it doesn’t seem to make any difference. Am I doing it wrong?

Styling Normal Posts Like Sticky Posts

Hello,

I am using the Origin theme https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/origin/

When you make a post sticky its styling changes on the home page. How do I style all my posts like sticky posts, making the only effect of a post being sticky is to pin it to the top.

I use Origin theme and I’m trying to find the css code for the page title so I can change the colour. I’ve tried using Firebug to try and identify it but have had no luck with ‘#entry-title a {
color:#FF0000
}’ and ‘page-title {
color:#FF0000
}’

Images in txt widget not side by side

Hey, Ive came across a problem that I with my limited knowledge can’t fix . On my web site www.houseofvlinder.com in side bar i have a text widget and in it social media icons . They should be one next to each other but instead they are stacked . I’ve created a new post and in there they are as they should be however when i c/p all that in text widget they get stack on top of each other. If anyone has any idea how to fix that i would be more than grateful for the advice. Thank you in advance

Using the Sticky Post area through Functions

Is there a way to create a function that uses the ‘sticky post’ area, but from the functions.php file?

I want to insert things into the function area from my child theme functions.php file (e.g. a welcome video, or notice). I want to erase the ‘if statement’ and have it be a canvas for whatever I choose.
