I’d like to begin by admitting, that I’m using a very old WordPress version, that being 4.1.33 – Extended Long-Term Support under Debian Linux, and that therefore, the latest Akismet versions are no longer compatible.
However, I feel safe using this old WordPress version, as well as my current Akismet version. I have a paid account.
Which was the latest version of Akismet, still compatible with WP 4.1.33?
Sincerely,
Dirk
I’m curious if you’re going to make versions 1.4.5 and 1.4.6 available in here for development purposes? I can see the change log for those versions but they are not available for download from here. I can only download the latest version (1.4.7) and one previous in this website is 1.4.4.
Thank you upfront for your time.
Kind Regards,
Metin
My purpose is to test out various wordpress editions, about their safety. In order to do that and make them better, I would like to start from old, vulnerable WP editions with old, vulnerable plugins/themes.
That said, I would like to install an old (WordPress5.0) WP and an old plugin(wpshop.1.3.9.5.zip).
1) Problem no.1: When trying to install the WordPress5.0 edition, I get a White Screen of death and set the debug mode on: I come across some get_magic_quotes is deprecated errors. So, I go and comment out all the magic_quotes instances. Then, everything appears to be slightly in order, except some errors here and there.
2) Problem no.2: When trying to install the old plugin(wpshop.1.3.9.5.), I also get many errors, the last of which is this
“Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class 'SimpleXMLElement' not found in /var/www/html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wpshop/includes/librairies/install.class.php:64 Stack trace: #0 /var/www/html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wpshop/includes/librairies/install.class.php(559): wpshop_install::wpshop_insert_default_pages() #1 /var/www/html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wpshop/includes/librairies/install.class.php(346): wpshop_install::make_specific_operation_on_update() #2 /var/www/html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wpshop/includes/librairies/install.class.php(227): wpshop_install::execute_operation_on_db_for_update() #3 /var/www/html/wordpress/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(286): wpshop_install::update_wpshop() #4 /var/www/html/wordpress/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(310): WP_Hook->apply_filters() #5 /var/www/html/wordpress/wp-includes/plugin.php(453): WP_Hook->do_action() #6 /var/www/html/wordpress/wp-admin/admin.php(156): do_action() #7 /var/www/html/wordpress/wp-admin/plugins.php(10): require_once('/var/www/html/w...') #8 {main} in /var/www/html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wpshop/includes/librairies/install.class.php on line 64
“.
So, how am I supposed to test out old editions? Is this a kind of a php error? What can I do to test them out and try to test them?
Thanks in advance!
]]>I’m curious if it is at all possible to reach to your archive of all releases for development purposes? I’ve seen one related post about it which was replied and indicating that it is not possible to roll back because of the vulnerability; but my question is not about rolling back for using the plugin but more related with finding a way to reach your all release archive for development.
Thanks in advance,
Best,
Metin
We’re having a caching issue with the plugin. Here’s what happens:
– Upload a file
– Delete said file, make a change
– File URL is NOT deleted, can still load deleted file
– Upload a new version of the file, with the same name as the original/now deleted file
– File doesn’t update with new version
– If opened in a different browser, SOMETIMES it does show the updated file but sometimes not. It may be a matter of waiting, but I wanted to run it by you in case you had any ideas.
We are able to see the updated (v2) version of the file when we add this to the end of the URL: ?v=1
Like this: https://www.housecanary.com/wp-content/uploads/_assets/ces-test-3.pdf?v=1
Do you know why caching would be so severe with the files we upload to the plugin? Any way to fix this? We will be updating files quite often using this plugin, so let me know if you can help!
Thanks for your assistance!!

]]>I’ve tried clearing the cache on all test browsers, and clearing WP cache, but it seems persistent within a specific browser, yet each different browser displays the pages slightly differently. For example in safari on iOS, only the About page is old. On Firefox, both the about page and the return home linked page are old versions. Any ideas as to what’s going on??
Thanks.

I would like to revert to version 6.0.0, and incrementally upgrade until finding the newest version that doesn’t break my site.
I have a custom theme, and quite a lot of plugins and for me it’s priority #1 to have the site working, and #2 to find the bugs that make my life miserable – which I’ll do in a test install somewhere.
So please I would be really grateful if some Plugin personnel could send me a 6.0.0 version for me to install?
Thanks,
