moving pages to draft from published but still visible

Hi our website is a bit of a mess with many old pages. I decided the best thing was to unpublish some of these by moving them to draft, instead of potentially causing havoc by deleting them.

That way I reasoned that if there were any issues I could simply republish them, but if I went a year or so with no problems, then I could probably safely delete them.

One of the issues we are having is that Chat GPT etc is working off these old pages and so is rather out of date about what we are doing now, and answers as if we were doing the old stuff we used to do.

The problem I am having is that despite moving them to draft, I have realised they are still visible. Visibility is set to public, even though I move them to draft.

Should I change visibility to private? I just assumed if you move it to draft it’s not available for public consumption but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

If anyone has any better ideas of how to do this I would love to hear them. Also, is there a way of seeing pages that have no links to them? then I could safely delete those ones.

Plugin showing old (non-existent) categories in taxonomies

Hi: On my site I used to have your plugin a very long time ago when I had some old categories, posts and pages. I think it was then called Show/Hide Widgets or similar name? I removed the plugin for several years, and have now re-installed it and activated it.

When I try to select such that a widget should show only in certain categories on my site, the plugin is showing all those old categories that are no longer existing on my site and it is not showing the categories that are there at present on my site. Same with pages and posts.

How can I fix this issue? Please help urgently.

I have dozens of old pages on my site that I originally created with frontpage / expresssion web.

How can I edit them using wordpress?

I see them in my wordpress file manager plugin but don’t see a way to edit them within wordpress.

Ideas?

Cant see correct page for blog i follow

Some friends can see the latest pages and some cant

I have got a strange problem. In any browser or from any other system my website displays old posts on my home page. The latest changes it is not taking.

So, I am taking over my web site again, as an employee convinced to revamp it, took some “working at home” time to work on it, got half waythrough and left the position for twice the money.

Can’t blame her, but I’m screwed.

Can you please offer me some tips in staying organized and maximizing the power.

What do you wish you had figured out in the beginning that you know now is keeping it simple and less confusing?

For instance, she had 3 things named Events.
Most photos are not attached
Old pages are still there – delete them all?
Posts v pages – why do you pick one or the other?
tags v Categories
