]]>I’ve got a site where comments are automatically stopped after 30 days. That’s fine, and it works great. But here’s the problem…
Some of these posts get dozens and dozens of comments. Pages of them, in some cases. But once the comment thread is shut down, only a few remain visible. The rest just “disappear.” There’s no way to access them whatsoever.
So my question is this: Is this working the way it’s supposed to work, or is there a problem? In other words, after you shut off comments, should all the old comments remain visible?
It seems to me they should, and I think I recall that it worked like that once. But it’s not working that way now, at least on this one site.
Input and comments would be very welcome. Thanks very much.

Thanks!

]]>My biggest surprise about this is that I screwed up my database a little while back and had to re-do everything. I thought it had all been deleted along with my missing posts from the past 3 years. Obviously the older comments are hiding somewhere and keep insisting they belong front and centre on my newer posts.
How can I find out where these are so I can block or delete them? And why would they be attaching themselves to newer posts that have no relevance to the older non-existent posts?
I’ve looked for others with the same problem in the Forums but haven’t found any. Hopefully there’s an answer out there.
Cheers.
