Disable YouTube Embed On Buddypress Activity Feed

Hello Everyone.

I am making a Facebook style community website.

I’ve been trying to disable the ability to watch YouTube videos on the buddypress activity feed/elsewhere.

I need to just have an image preview (just like facebook functions) where users can click that and be directed to YouTube.

Ive tried the Disable Embeds plugin and it does not work for me.

Any one have any idea?

I was able to see a broken stylesheet reference:

and the following do not lead anywhere:

So I excluded those 3 URLs from the archive-it crawl scope, but somehow the oembeds end up at the bottom of the page in the archived site.

Any ideas?

Instagram photos don’t seem to render when I try to embed them. All I get is the URL displayed on the page. An example link that I’m using: https://instagram.com/p/UqdRnyFdvH

Twitter oembed not working at very end of post?

Embedded tweets seem to work fine unless it’s at the end of a post.

If the Tweet status link is the very last line of text in the post content, that status link will not embed – it will show the status URL only like it does in the editor.

Has anyone else seen this problem before?

I can’t get tweets to autoembed, am I doing something silly? Others are having the same issue:

same thing with or without https
same thing on posts and pages
same thing on different themes
same thing if entered in either Visual or Text tab
same thing if plugins are enabled or not

I’ve run out of things to try, any ideas or experience with this would be much appreciated!

How to set max width of oembeds in WP 3.5?

Oembed settings for max height/ width etc used to be under the settings—>media tab.

This now only seems to reference images and not video embeds etc.

Anyone know where this can be set?

It’s super important as otherwise oembeds just spill over the body of the theme.

Please can someone let me know!

i′d like to know if is there a way of making the embeded presantation to be responsive, fluid or at least if is it possible to set the presentation′s demensions.
