Just found out the spate of SPAM registrations over the last few days were because “Profile Press” changed the avatar generator I had installed. Trouble is, I didn’t ask for this registration functionality, and it does no good to “register” a bunch of spam addresses! Absolutely ridiculous. I will be deleting this plug-in ASAP.

Hello Support,

Today, on advice, I installed your security plugin because it would be better and wouldn’t slow down my website. I installed it and turned on the most normal settings. I had a dinner appointment with friends tonight and wouldn’t actually test the speed until tomorrow. Received an email from a customer and also an email from your plugin, Subject: File Change Warning. Body: A file (or files) on your site have been changed…
Okay I tought, 1 or 2 maybe 3 files… But NO…25044 files have been changed!! Didn’t know at all that I had so many files on my site. But what’s going on here? Can almost pull the hair out of my head. How do I get this restored again?

Nag Message Won’t Go Away!

There is a nag message to send stats. I have unticked the boxes then clicked “Submit” then get the pithy “What a Pity” message SEVERAL TIMES! It just keeps comimng back like a cockroach you hit with a shoe and won’t die!!

WordPress rules state that these type of nag messages must be permanantly dismissisable.

Please fix it.

80 Down and UP emails in one day.

Since this time yesterday I’ve had about 80 Down and Up emails from JetPack Monitor – yet my site has not been down at all.

What gives? I’ve been running Jetpack Monitor for a few weeks and this is the first time this has happened.

Jetpack Monitor – nuisance notifications?

Today I’ve got a half dozen notifications from Jetpack Monitor saying my site has been down for (variously) 3 to 7 minutes each time.

However, when I get the “down” notice, I check my site and it is working fine, then some time later I get the email from Jetpack Monitor syaing it’s back up and has been down for xx minutes. As far as I can tell the site has not been down at all.

This plugin has been abandoned, the creator has no desire to continue working with it. It thus constitutes an attractive nuisance and so should be deleted from the data base.

Maintenance Mode

I recently went to upgrade a plugin in my dashboard, but it was stuck on the same page for almost 30 minutes, so I just closed the tab. I went to see if my site was harmed, and the Maintenance Mode message was just stuck there. I can’t go into my dashboard either.

Is there a URL to turn off Maintenance Mode?
