Will those Not Found errors result in Google getting locked out while indexing due to Better WordPress Security’s 404 Detection?
If so, would it work to turn off the lockouts (or set above 200ish) so that I don’t lock Google out? Temporarily at least until Google realizes those pages don’t exist, and then adjust to the default settings later. I’m not a techie, so I’m open to better suggestions, but I might not be able to actually do them…
Thank you.

]]>My posts url format is domain.com/category/blog-title
Now recently webmaster tools have started showing a lot not found errors and all those errors are in the form
domain.com/upload-date/post-title/imagename
So every not found errors correspond to image name.
I am not sure where i am going wrong as there seems to be no such url when i check the page source from where it is getting linked.
How do i figure this out..

]]>The links referred to under “short meta descriptions” are not ones I installed on my site, they lead to what appears to be spam marketing for anti-virus software, and I’m more than a bit worried about them. An example of one follows:

The directory /upgrade/ is not one that I remember ever having used.
I’m concerned I’ve been hacked.
Can anyone recommend how I :-
1. Find out whether I have been hacked
2. What the damage is
3. Whether it’s necessary to shut down the site while this is fixed
4. How I fix it.
Thanks heaps.
