Home page won't open, browser tries to download a file instead

I’m running WordPress 4.5.3

When I try and access my homepage (www.ja4x4.co.uk) the browser (Chrome or Firefox) just download a file.

If I add to the webaddress e.g. https://www.ja4x4.co.uk/shop/ then the site renders okay until I try and access the home page again.

I’ve looked in the .htaccess file and it looks the same as other unaffected sites.

Can you help?

Hi, lovely theme.
Something I am baffled by, in settings, reading, I select static home page and it doesnt work, no home page with text or content already on site.

I have built maybe 100 wp sites and this is a first.

Blank webpage, no admin login

I am a WordPress novice. I installed wordpress yesterday using MAMP and a theme from Theme Trust. The website I’m trying to build is called kayandy.com. It appeared to go smoothly and I got the standard “Hello World” wordpress starter page. I made no changes. Then, today I tried to log into my admin dashboard but both the page kayandy.com and my admin login page appear as white, blank pages. I read that this is likely a PHP error, although I don’t really know how to troubleshoot that. How can I get this to work? I don’t mind starting over completely because I haven’t posted anything yet, but I when I try to reinstall wordpress it also doesn’t work.

Hello,

My blog homepage is blank for the second time in one week. When this happened last week, with the help of people from this forum, I deactivated all plugins, nothing happened. I reactivated the plugins. I switched to a different theme, my homepage was fine. However, first and foremost, like last week, I cannot get to my wordpress login to try to switch the theme.

I noticed the forum post about Brute Force attacks. Could that be what is happening to my blog?

How do I add a "Home" page?!

The new theme I downloaded, Codium Extend, didn’t have a “home” page….unless i accidentally deleted it while adding my About, Contact, Blogroll, etc. If someone clicks on my blogroll, for example, they have to back arrow to get back to the blog posts! Total mayhem. How do I make the default/home page? So confused.

I am helping a local charity organization supportted by oxfam

I made some changes in the general section of the admin page, it was where you can change the blog address. I changed the blog address to the address of another page on the same site (I did this so this was the 1st page anyone saw).

it seemed to run fine yesterday but today I can not login into the admin page and the when I try to go to the homepage, it just hangs, nothing happens.

can anybody help? what can I do to resolve this?
