Hi,

I’ve had my site crash on me. Thought I had removed all auto updates as this has broken the site again. But not sure what could’ve updated.

I’ve not been able to load the wp-admin page as when i try to open it I only get directed to my homepage. This is the same for all links on the site.

I’ve read a few topics about similar issues but not found anything where they cannot access wp-admin and therefore i cannot change the permalinks settings. I’ve tried to create a new .htaccess file but to no prevail.

I can access the files via FTP.

Any suggestions on what I could try and do to get my links to work and to be able to access the wordpress admin panel?

Site locked after installing Contact Form 7 Signature Add-on

I have been working on building a new site for a few months now and am, literally, about 24 hours from finishing. I tried to install a plugin called “Contact Form 7 Signature Add-on” and everything crashed. Everything was fine prior to that so I know it was the cause. Problem is that now I cannot access anything to try and deactivate said plugin or anything else for that matter. To complicate things, I have my site visibility set to private because I wasn’t ready to launch.

I’m including the error message to see if anyone could PLEASE give me some direction. For the record the site is still okay from what I can see on the front end — I just cannot access anything at all as an admin.

All- in-one-seo plugin Causes error and admin lockout

Hi Guys,

I am having a similair issue to the reported issue in this thread:

However I cant access the admin backend because we had a url redirect of the admin login page so trying to access the wp-admin login backend with the modified url in the thread (with the url changes etc) does nothing and still brings up the Plesk “This site is under maintenance” page.

The error which can be seen at the top of the page is:

Broke admin login

Installed via WP panel and it immediately caused error messages on all WP screens. I was no longer able to log in even as admin so had to disable via ssh. Sounds very promising, and I was interested in the non-WP version but after this it seems best avoided.

I installed this plugin from within WP and it immediately showed errors on the top of the pages and locked me out of the admin account. It sounds like others have had this problem as well. I had to deactivate it by renaming the directory via ssh. Now I will need to look for any remnants when I delete the files and check for any db that needs to be removed.

This is a new WP installation with only two other active plugins – akismet and matomo (which I am also still evaluating). Nothing else. It was just updated to the newest WP version, php 7.4, and the latest mysql. One message on the screen had something to do with a cookie. I think any plugin that messes with WP login cookies is best avoided.

Too bad because it sounds promising, but I am not going to spend any time troubleshooting it when it does not even install properly. Potential users beware – this probably does not happen to everyone but I am not the first to encounter it based on previous posts.

Can’t access admin page due to migration from MAMP Pro to MAMP

My two-week free trial of MAMP Pro ended and now I can’t access my admin login page. I can access a kind of mangled version of the site but when I try to navigate to the admin panel it takes me to a weird “Powered by WordPress” login page that takes me to a 404 Page not found error. My site is still under development and has never gone live. I have tried deactivating plugins and themes. I have tried changing my password and adding a new user in MyPHPadmin. I’ve tried lots of other things but nothing seems to work. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Hi team,

I have no idea what has happened (novice here, so speak slowly and clearly ), but I did the update on plugin’s that needed it, and now I have this error message.

I use SiteGround, but have no idea where to look or what this means.

Changed URL, can’t login

I’ll try and explain this the best I can… A client came to me to populate their website. Their friend in Brazil had half developed the website but it needed re-branding. The site was on a Brazilian server but the memory was too low and caused media upload problems. My client then transferred the website to Crazy Domains in Australia, from then I logged on through his new domain. However, the URL for the site was still the old one. I completely created the website for my client, then from the WordPress platform I changed the URL in the settings to the new one. Instantly I couldn’t login from either the old url admin or the new url admin. I fully backed up the website using the Updraft Plus plugin, but the files are only accessed from the admin platform. Crazy Domains have not been able to help. Does anyone have any advice? Otherwise I’m going to have to start the website from scratch again. Cheers.

Frontend Backend Access Disabled with UM Activation

UM allowing members to log in more than once with same user name. Then few days later all access to WordPress site, FrontEnd and Admin disabled. Only white screen. Had to disable Ultimate Member plugin via database to get Admin access. Tested 3 times with UM activated/deactivated and UM always the problem. UM Version 2.0.21, WP 4.9.8, php 7.1.8. Any suggestions? Thanx much.

All Plugins Disappeared After WordPress 4.9 Update

This is the message I received from my webhost.

Yes, it appears one of your plugins is overwriting the /wp-admin/index.php. I have replaced it and made a copy in there /wp-admin/indexGOOD.php as soon as you view the plugins it gets overwritten. You will need to figure out what plugin is breaking this.
If you want me to continue it will be a paid charge of $50 per hour. Let me know if you want me to fix this issue for you.

When I initially attempted to access my page via WordPress admin, these are the error messages I received:
