I use this plugin to send my new blog post out automatically. It works effortlessly and easily to send newsletters to my subscribers. The add-ons offer more functionality to an already great plugin.

Where is not the option to bulk delete a list of Emails ? There was a field ?

WP Mail SMTP error will TheNewsLetter Plugin

Hi,

I am fairly new to WordPress, and recently the company I work for want to create a newsletter. I set this up through the Newsletter Plugin, using a newsletter email address as the sender address. This is a microsoft outlook email and has it’s own mailbox. For some reason every time I try to send the email from this sender address it does not work. It only works if I use the email address we used in the WP Mail SMTP , which we use for all of our website forms etc. I have checked the SMTP settings and the force from email box is unchecked , but the Newsletter still won’t let me send from a different address and it wont even let me set the sender name to what i want it to be. Every time I try i get this error message from WP Mail SMTP Plugin:

Serious SMTP Issue

Since about two weeks I cannot use TNP on any of my new client websites any longer (Siteground Hosting). When I install the plugins external SMTP and enter clients Siteground Email SMTP credentials and then click on test, it goes into an endless spinning loop and then timeouts with 504 Gateway timeout.

After that point my whole website becomes unstable and I need to deactivate TNP to continue working on the WordPress website. It slows down the whole server to the point of time-outs.

This is a serious issue that occured on my last four client installs (always fresh WP install and always after configuring external SMTP in TNP).

I contacted Siteground and they looked at it in their logs and made it clear this is a plugin issue.

There seems to be a serious issue with your external SMTP plugin since one of your last updates. Please address this ASAP, as I cannot hand over websites to clients because of this TNP issue.

BTW, I have the most recent version installed.

Huge Disappointment

After over a year of struggling with this one, we have finally had enough. A primary reason one uses an autoresponder is so that faith can be placed in emails getting delivered. That’s simply not possible with Newsletter Plugin. It’s been one glitch after another. Documentation is terrible. The support team might respond to you on a good day if you’re lucky. However, it really doesn’t matter. Issues that seem to get fixed return again and again. We invested in Newsletter Plugin and quite honestly feel that the value was just not there. We regret spending money on this plugin.

Good plugin, Needs work, Poor Support

Our ham radio club purchased a license for the Newsletter Plugin so we could do more for our monthly readers. Our club is very active and has over 150 members. Previously, we had to use whatever desktop publishing program was available to create a PDF monthly club newsletter. It took loads of hours and effort to do, and that put us on course for a better alternative.

Initially, the “Newsletter” plugin looked like it would meet our needs to (1) reduce the time and effort to publish, and (2) provide email dissemination to make it easier for club members to read the newsletter. Unfortunately, the longer we use the “Newsletter” plugin, the more we are finding out it has some rather serious faults and failings.

One of the most glaring faults of the “Newsletter” plugin is the disconnect in functionality between the editor and the email product. What you see in the plugin editor may look fine, but what you get in the published email may be quite different and not nearly as pleasing. This is especially apparent in how the plugin handles images. What newsletter publisher doesn’t want to include lots of good images?

There are a number of ways images can be included in a newsletter via the plugin, but there is little consistency in their execution, whether they are in a Text Block or Post Blocks (single, multiple, etc.), or even the Gallery Block. Again, images in the Text Block in the editor look fine. Text wraps nicely to the left or right. But, in the published email these images have no “float” characteristics and the text is at image-bottom. The plugin should provide a number of image & text wrapping options that carry over faithfully to the email published output. If you happen to include images in a post that are brought in via a Post Block, the best the plugin can do is provide small thumbnails with no text wrapping options, and no links to the actual media content. To get links to the media content in the email newsletter you have to use the Gallery Block. Unfortunately, the Gallery Block limits you to 10 images and you have to manually include the links for the image hyperlinks.

There was also an issue we ran into where a bulleted list in a WP post that was included via a Single Post Block did not look at all pleasing whether in the editor or in the published email. In the email, the list was centered on the page in very small font, instead of left-justified and indented with a font consistent with the rest of the text or post.

All of this is to say, the “Newsletter” plugin needs some work. Disappointingly, the “Newsletter” plugin team seems very slow to respond to questions, and even slower to publish updates and corrections. I am writing this review because its the last way I can think of to get the attention of the plugin author – Stefano. I have taken other steps and the response is either lacking, minimal, or quite slow. I would very much like to see the “Newsletter” plugin prosper and become more widely used once it has receive the attention and improvements it is sorely in need of. I will be only too happy to write a glowing review once the plugin receives the work and improvements it is in much need of.

Plugin conflict/Newsletter Plugin

Hi, I am having trouble with a conflict between UM and my Newsletter Plugin. Although the manage subscriptions page is not restricted by UM, only logged in members can access the unsubscribe page if they click on the unsubscribe link in a newsletter (they will be directed to my homepage instead of the unsubscribe page). It does the job its supposed to do even in free version.
For small businesses and freelancers or startups its a great plugin.

Draft Products are being displayed in Newsletter….

Hi, firstly thank you for this really great plugin and all your work – I’ve added Woocommerce products to the bottom of my newsletter and sent myself a test newsletter and I noticed that a draft product is being displayed (it also showed up on the Newsletter preview, but I thought maybe on a real newsletter it wouldn’t show.. but it does).

Weird thing is that I have 3 draft products, and 2 published products and I have set the code to show up to 6 products in total – but only one of the drafts is showing up (the woocomerce Sample product draft) despite my Newsletter code allowing for up to 6 items….

Anyway, just thought I’d let you know (I’ll just trash the drafts as a workaround in the meantime). Thanks again, regards Karen

Newsletter Plugin – Need a shortcode to embed form

I am using the Newspaper WordPress theme built by TagDiv Composer. I need a shortcode to embed a Newsletter Signup form that will send the subscriber to the Subscriber list in the Newsletter plugin.

I see have a plugin for Buddy Press to embed a form, but I am not using Buddy Press, I am using TagDiv Composure.

How can I accomplish this?
